Could this have been her? https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/36410/3/

It's a stretch but they look similar. Denise was 23 and it's said that Buckskin Girl is possibly a teenage run away (younger than 23) but some people look much younger than they are, so she [Buckskin Girl] could have been older.

Denise went missing from her home in New Hampshire, but she probably ran away.

"A high level of soot from vehicle traffic and/or industrial activity was also found on her [Buckskin Girl's] clothing suggesting that she spent a significant amount of time in an urban area within the Northeastern region or possibly from hitchhiking." http://fox61.com/2016/04/29/new-tes...io-in-1981-could-be-missing-from-connecticut/

And depending, it could have been a while before Denise was reported missing. Or, maybe someone thought she left without telling anyone, and reported her as a missing person much later. So she could have gone missing before November 1981.

I could be far off, I'm new as web sleuthing. But I hope this helps.

EDIT: https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/12469/26/

She left with her child and her boyfriend, and she was several months pregnant. He's known or suspected as the murderer of at least two other women, and he and the child wound up in California, so he could have left her on the route, but I think the childbirth aspect rules her out.

Patty was sent to live with family in North Dakota, then brought back to Oklahoma to El Reno. From there she was in the care of Owasso Children's Baptist home and the last record they have of her was that she was going from them into Tulsa Oklahaoma DHS custody. We do have an official letter from DHS from 1994 when family was searching then, stating that she'd never been adopted out. That is the last known whereabouts. Patricia has been missing since January 1, 1980. Her date of last contact is an approximate.

NamUs

I think Patricia was ruled out right away for BG and AGJD when her DNA profile was finally complete and run in CODIS, according to the FB page her sister maintains for her. Last I knew, she was trying to get NamUs to put her on the rule out lists because she is getting bombarded with the suggestions for both of them.

We know she was found in an area that not only is a hub for manufacturing, but for agriculture as well.

Interesting theory. Hearing people's ideas help and may trigger other thoughts. It is hard to discount the connection to trucking in this area. Putting it together with agriculture makes a lot of sense.

The fact that her hair was braided could very well be that she worked with machinery at a farm, factory, or warehouse. When working with machinery, I do know that long hair have to be held so that it won't get caught when operating a machinery.

Here is another thought to consider about agriculture. It could be possible that BG may have worked at a grain silo or she delivered grains to a grain silo.

I think we are all starting to circle around this theory that she was in agriculture, and delivery. This would explain the pollen from the various states. If she were crating, loading, unloading, doing manual labor this would explain her level of fitness.
The braids really to speak to keeping her hair out of the way, vs. how braids are normally fashioned.
She had scars that sound consistent with farm labor and trucking as well.

She wasn't sexually assaulted, but attacked with a tool of some sort and then strangled. She must have put up a good fight.
This must have been a heated argument...I'm still thinking a robbery

I kinda live near Troy...is there any documents etc. you think I could search down? I was thinking of getting a look at a 1981 map of the area. Anyone with ideas, I could perhaps find some free time and do something!!

Well Kat913, let's figure out how frequently we think a truck would stop after leaving Troy, if it were her hub. Let's figure out the most frequently traveled hwy for trucks out of Troy, and the first truck stop we think her rig (if there was one) would have stopped at to fuel and eat. Then let's go from there.

I'm sure there are lots of options, but this seems like a place to start.

Sounds good!! Troy is very close to I70(East/West interstate) and I75 (North/South interstate) split. So the way I see it...either came down from Canada/Michigan and dropped off in Troy before hitting split and disappearing either east towards Pennsylvania etc. or West towards Indiana etc. Seems most logical (dispose of body before making turn). Otherwise if you made turn north off split....it's a long way towards Michigan etc. So dropping before making turn makes most sense to me. So, therefore it will be truckstops along I75 North of Troy.

You rock Kat. Now we are talking! Lets identify those truck stops and see if we can get posters put up there by any of you locals. Despite the years past, you just never know.

Here is a map that I like looking at...you can see the triangle shaped (pie shaped) area that comes off I75...take rt55 to Horseshoe Bend Rd to corner of SGreenlee (where she was found) and then you just take a left at rt55 again and back to hwy...I drove this once at night (when they believed she was left) and it is a breeze to drive (bobtail truck could do it with no problem...as well as trailer if indeed). It is absolutely pitch dark out there now (imagine 1981!!) There are many other places (forests further down) that she could have been left by someone in car or wanting to hide her. That is why I believe it was a truck...pitch dark, no hassle roads...just few minutes off interstate and take the triangle and you are back on the road.

DAng i got the willies looking at the street view with all those corn fields. Something about corn fields is so creepy!

I think your theory is spot on!

I am not familiar with what the isotopes and pollen suggested? What states are in the mix?

!75 travels all the way north from Michigan. Was there trucking coming from Canada during 1981? Also could have come from west on I90 and turned onto I75 working way down to I-70. Need to find a truckstop map from 1981!

Not to be a Debbie Downer but in April in Ohio there would be no crops or produce. Normally June to October is when they're harvested. There are two things farms are selling and hauling from October through June in Ohio. Hay and straw. By April farmers are really pushing to get the hay and straw sold to make room for the new season's harvest.

I70 is how you come out of PA, South Jersey...I-80 is usually used for more northern states (North Jersey, CT, MA, RI)....noy a rule but usually. Unless working way down south on a downward jog (trucks like that)....in my opinion!

Yes trucks engaged commerce between the USA and Canada back in 81

Very FEW women drove rigs in 81. The ones who did were so far and few between that one coming up missing would be very obvious and documented. Women drivers only become really popular in the early 90's and now is very common.

Back in the 80's and early 90's I would go days without seeing another lady driver. If I seen a lady, 9 times out of 10 she was a rider with her husband or boyfriend or was a hitchhiker.
