This probably won't be a useful post for most people, but I wanted to try to get the facts of the case together in one post.
- Buckskin Girl was found murdered on April 24, 1981. The autopsy estimated her date of death as April 22, 1981, which is the death date listed on her headstone.
- She was found on Greenlee Road of Troy, Newton Township, Miami County, Ohio. She was found approximately 5 miles away from Ohio State Route 55.
- She was a Caucasian female, 18-26 years old. She had long, reddish-brown hair, that was pulled into 2 braids at the time of her death. She had light, ruddy and freckled skin, indicating she may have spent a lot of time outdoors. She was 5'4-5'6 and weighed approximately 130 lbs.
- She had multiple scars on her body, including a 7/8'' below her lower lip. She had a 2 1/4'' scar on left wrist, 1/4 x 1/4'' scar on left arm, 1'' scar on left wrist, 7/8'' scar on right middle finger, 1 1/8'' scar on right ankle, and a 3/4'' scar on right foot. She had a 3/4 x 1/4 tan birthmark on left thigh. She also had a light brown mole on her right breast, and another light brown mole on her left arm.
- She had suffered blows to the head and neck, but succumbed due to strangulation. New reports also indicate that she suffered a lacerated liver.
- She had a porcelain metal crown on tooth #8, the right central incisor. Besides that, no other dental work was noted. Her teeth were straight, white, and in very good condition.
- She was very well-groomed. Her eyebrows had been very recently plucked.
- She was found wearing a buckskin jacket, which inspired the nickname of Buckskin Girl. It was extensively studied by LE, and it is speculated to have been handmade. It had a satin purple lining, and had fringe and leather eyelets. It was hoodless.
- In addition to the jacket, she wore a size Large turtleneck with a distinctive orange and brown geometric pattern. She wore size 30L Wrangler blue jeans. She also wore 32D white bra, no underwear.
- She was found with no shoes or socks.
- Her ears were unpierced. She had no tattoos, and wore no jewelry.
- Pollen tests conducted in 2016 showed that she had spent a long amount of time (possibly more than a year) in the northeastern dry-oak forest region of the USA. This includes areas in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. In addition to this information, she also had a large amount of soot on her clothing from industrial activity or vehicle traffic.
- The outer layers of her clothing indicated that she had spent a very short amount of time before her death (mere days) in the western USA or north Mexico.
- She was laid to rest in Troy's Riverside Cemetery.
