This story is confusing as all get, and sad to boot. The media, at this point, needs to pull the reigns in tighter till they have *important* information to give.

I saw some posts on the "Pray for the Manyard Kids" facebook that talks of several searches taking place tomorrow. That's the only solid information I have seen yet.

Even more conflicting (and very interesting) information...

"[Greg] said he and Herrmann talked briefly on the phone shortly before 5 a.m. and received a text message from her at 11 a.m. Borders said that was the last time he heard from her." This is the first I've read where they supposedly spoke on the phone or that he received a text from Tina at 11 am.

"Borders said he had no idea Herrmann never made it to her job because he spent the night with a friend. 'So I spent the night there and we went golfing and probably about noon I got a call from my mom asking me if I knew where Tina was,' Borders said." Didn't another report indicate his mother called him around 4 pm and that was the first time he had any indication anything was wrong?

"The couple had been together for six years. Borders said their home was going into foreclosure; they were talking about splitting up, and had been arguing." Now we're hearing they were still together.

"[Gary] said he would never hurt Herrmann or her children. Larry Maynard said he is not so sure. 'The boyfriend, the live-in boyfriend, Greg, I mean I don't believe anything he says,' Maynard said." I think someone's true colors have started to show.

My head hurts from all the conflicting stories. :banghead:

I asked my classmate who works for WBNS 10TV. He hadn't heard anything specific today, but he said he would keep his ear to the ground for me and email if he heard anything beyond what we're seeing on tv. Today has just been basic reporting - apparently it takes a bit of time before the sources start trickling in and they have to sift through the rumors just like we do.

This case has made the national news - I heard about it on FOX News this afternoon.

I agree. I'm still unsure whether the boyfriend is giving conflicting statements, or if it's shoddy reporting. We're hearing a lot of opinions from people floating around the edges of the case, but not much from LE. It's all about as clear as mud!

This just adds to the mystery. If Stephanie lives practically next door, why was her pick-up truck in the garage at Tina's house? I would think that the two women would walk back and forth between their homes.

I wonder if Tina had already found an apartment and Stephanie was going to help her start moving things out that day. This could be why Stephanie's truck was there. I wonder if there was any domestic violence reports. Does anyone know where Stephanies children were ? Stephanies husband ? Not too much is mentioned about them.

my local paper's online presence, statesman.com, picked up the AP story earlier this evening...don't know if it's in the 'daily fish wrapper' because I hardly ever see the paper in print. (and I also refer to it as the 'oldspaper' - because most of the news I already read about 24-72 before it comes out in print).

I hope this story has people praying for a safe return.

Sorry everyone I had only read as far as page 4 when I wrote this post. It appears these ? have already been asked..

Very bad reporting on this case, on a local channel tonight they said the blood found in the house was reported to be from an accident. ??? How do they report it seems odd a family lived in this house and the blood found is from a accident? Crazy! Where are these people? Also interviewed the father of the children who said he doesn't believe anything that Tina's boyfriend says at all...and Tina's boyfriend who says what has already been stated he stayed at a friends house then was golfing with a friend when he found out from a call from his mother something was wrong with Tina. I read on another area online it was Stephanie's boyfriend that called the children's father to say they are missing, not Tina's boyfriend.

what channel were you watching, Smugshots?

just wondering so I can look to see if there's a video online.

TIA!

ETA: I found a video on http://www.10tv.com/live/content/index.html#-- IIRC it's "Knox Missing" & says Sheriff said blood was from injury...there's also some snippets from Borders & Maynard....was that what you heard tonite, Smugshots?

There is not much news on any timings of that Wednesday afternoon/evening. What time the kids come out of school, when was Stephanie last seen/heard of, what time does Tina start working, etc.. I am thinking Stephanie was at Tina's house to look after Tina's children. Since Stephanie brought her car and also has children of her own, it could be that she was going to bring Tina's children to her own house. Not sure if that would be the usual arrangement. So basically what I am saying is that whatever happened to the 2 women and 2 children happened just before Tina would go to work and Stephanie was there to pickup the kids, or she walked in after the situation just happened. I guess LE will check phone records and has a better look on the timeline. I really wonder what time Tina would go to work. If it is before or after 4pm.

Sorry was making dinner while watching, it was either channel 4 or channel 10. 10 is what we usually watch though. They inteviewed both Tina's BF and father of the two kids.

Besides the really bad reporting, something just doesn't make sense, there seems to be something happening the past few months for Tina's BF to say they are several month behind in the mortgage and are losing the house. Is it just that their relationship was failing or something else going on? Both are still working so there is income, why isn't the mortgage getting paid?

.....good point. And "golf" is an expensive sport for someone who is losing his home.

The media has really screwed up the timeline, this morning they said the boyfriend, assuming Tina's reported them missing Wednesday. Then tonight Tina's BF is on the news saying he found out about it yesterday afternoon when his mother called him while he was on the golf course. Maybe it was Stephanie's BF that reported them missing, because from Tina's BF doesn't sound like he even knew till Thursday afternoon.

that video I just watched from tonite's news said LE was monitoring Tina's cellphone & bank records...they didn't mention anything about Stephanie...I guess they are trying to keep some things quiet for now.

Well, depends on the course, lots of cheap courses, especially this time of year in Ohio.

Sorry to quote myself, but if I didn't pay my mortgage I'd have a whole lot of extra $ to golf, shop, etc.... :)

Wow.. what a mess.

I can't help thinking that whoever took these four did not just take their bodies. If the dog went as well, I think someone convinced them to go for a ride and made the kids happy by bringing the dog along. I don't think a stranger was responsible. When the guilty party is confirmed, it will turn out to be someone very close.

My thoughts are with these families and loved ones right now.

Apparently, according to the link, Tina was scheduled to work on Wednesday evening. And, yes, it was the same co-worker, the manager, who reported her missing on Wednesday and who went to the house and reported her missing on Thursday.

I, too, wonder why he would call LE when she didn't show up for work. There has got to be a reason his mind went there instead of being annoyed at her or worried that she'd had a family emergency. Even if you're the most reliable worker in the world, I don't think your boss is going to call LE when you're late to work unless your boss has a good reason to think LE would be needed.

Good point!
