other than who? did i miss who her husband/boyfriend is? lol, im struggling to keep everything straight in this case....

I'm sorry, I meant to say TINA (not Stephanie)!

Also, what time did it get dark? The lights were on when the sheriff was there for the welfare check Wed night, so someone must have been in the house after dark (or as it was getting dark)

We have not heard much about Stephanie either. I wonder what her relationship situation is. Is she married? Dating someone?

Could her boyfriend/husband have come over to Tina's house and started something?

Just food for thought.

No one has reported when the truck was moved to the college property have they? It doesn't make sense to me either. Moving the truck to a place where it can be found doesn't really serve any purpose. If they were kidnapped, why would the kidnapper go back to move a truck risking leaving evidence behind in the truck?

I agree, not an ideal situation for the dogs, when the son is in town he stays at the house with the dogs, and he brings his mother to the house to stay while he is there with her. The dogs do not stay outside, they are in the house, they have access to a doggy door. Apparently they are able to leave food out for these dogs they are smaller older dogs. The arrangment was for Tina to go an check on them and feed them every 2-3 days. The neighbor across the street is now checking the house and dogs daily. Tina did have keys to the house.

I hope the neighbor keeps a close eye on that house and reports to LE anything suspicious. If Tina has keys to that house and the perps responsible for the disappearance of Tina, her children, and Stephanie, know she has keys to that house, those keys may now be in the hands of someone that no one would want to have keys to the house!

i agree, a few pages back dreamweaver posted some possible reasons - i will have to go look for them... but if both of their vehicles have been abandoned then where the heck could they be? 1. borrowed/stole a car 2. rented a car 3. took a cab to a train/bus station or airport 4.hitchhike???? any ideas??
but if any of these things were to be realistic then i would think there would be evidence of them at least packing a few things... toothbrush, clothes, jewelry, meds, photos...kwim?

I wish there was an answer. I'm going to bet LE has this procedure because of numerous previous lawsuits.

I'm sure there's been lawsuits over such incidents, but in this day and age, with so many home-invasions and other crimes, it might be a good idea to change policy to........... repeated efforts until contact is made. That way, there would be some assurances that every effort was made. If contact can't be made, permission by a relative or neighbor should be obtained and LE enter the home.

We had a situation here on our street last year in which we had an elderly couple. The wife flew to her home town in Illinois for a visit, while the husband stayed home. The husband was known by the neighbors to have a ritual of picking up the newspaper off the driveway before 8:00am, putting it on the porch, and then taking a walk before coming home to read the newspaper. When the neighbor across the street noticed the newspaper not picked up on a Thursday morning, he was concerned. When the newspaper wasn't picked up on Friday morning, he let himself in a side gate and peeked in windows to see if the husband was inside. He couldn't see anything out of order, nor anyone inside.

The neighbor and my husband were discussing this and trying to decide if they should call LE, when a car pulled up and a man went to the door and used a key to let himself in. Within minutes there were police, ambulance, and fire dept. pulling up. The husband was found deceased in the home, and had died of a sudden heart attack.

I wonder if Tina was watching anyone else's house in Apple Valley. There are lots of people in the area that only use their homes in Apple Valley seasonally. Maybe she had access to a house or car that she was also watching besides the one we know about.

The sheriff said Herrmann's Ford pickup truck was found abandoned on the campus. It had been in the driveway both times deputies had checked on the home Wednesday night, but disappeared at some point Thursday.

At 4ish on Wed. is the last time we know forsure the kids were seen. I wonder when the last time the mother and her friend steph were seen?
Taking the dog is a sign of emotional bonding. Did the daughter cry and whine to take the dog with them?
They could have rented a car, or bought a car on the campus. I hope the LE checks in the little town of Mirego, if I remember it right, its a tiny, dont blink your eyes town. Would the gas station have been open?
Doesnt LE report back to the person that asked for the Welfare Check?
Hillaird Oh is a very upscale area, Mt Veron and the little towns around it, are way below the living standard of Hillaird. JMO. and jmo again, I think someone caught the ladies together and all h...broke loose. Did her friend get killed and so mom took the kids and left for parts unknown while bf stayed behind to do damage control. also, BF looks thin and small to me. 4 grown people would almost be impossible for him to handle.

When we were looking for the lady missing in NM, someone said come look for me if I am missing. I feel that way too. I would like to say that somehow on FB. I got no response on the NM lady, and would we miss a computer friend if they didnt show up?

aura? I think that way alot, I have MS and my brain doesnt think right.

All good thoughts. And if it was a perp then what kind of perp takes a taxi or goes hitch hiking? The car was moved somewhere after 11pm supposedly. I can imagine this was done at night. If bf is involved that means his night alibi is in it as well. No matter who is involved I suspect at least 2 people. IMO a single perp would not park the car 8 miles away. How is he going to get back to his own car?

Alternative is something happened between the 2 women and Tina is on the run with her kids and dog.

I don't think the person who moved the truck knew that LE had witnessed the truck at the house earlier. I think the victims were taken in a different vehicle, and the perp(s?) came back to take the truck to make it look like the victims had driven off in it. I think there was more to the plan (like getting rid of Stepanie's vehicle), but Tina's work friends' getting LE involved so early threw a wrench into it.

You and I are thinking a lot alike on this!

When LE does a welfare check here, I think it's routine for them to check if there's a vehicle in the driveway and they note if the engine is still warm or not, as well as if the lights are on. If the concern is not addressed, such as when someone is worried about a person, they return to check later. I'm pretty sure they check if the residence is secured or not, too. YMMV JMO

I just watched WBNS-TV news that came on at 7:30 p.m. tonight after the football game.

WBNS-TV is reporting that the family is still missing and that LE is saying there are signs of foul play in the house, but LE aren't giving any details about it.

As for the weather, we had Indian Summer with the temperatures in the low 70's since last weekend. But yes, it's going downhill tomorrow turning wet and colder with a big temperature drop.

And since the time change last weekend, the sun now goes down a quarter after five in the evening and it's dark thirty within minutes later.

The blood implies there is a perp, although I don't know how much blood there was (still catching up).

Who would have felt comfortable coming back to take the truck? Someone who knew the owner was elsewhere. Did they not wonder if anyone had reported her missing? Or did they know the police had been there and left?

Did someone want us to think it was someone on campus -- or was it someone on campus?

A thousand questions; zero answers.
