CPD seeks info on woman’s whereabouts

CHILLICOTHE – Chillicothe police seek the public’s help locating a woman reported missing by her mother. According to police, the mother of Wanda Lemons has filed a missing persons report saying that she has not spoken to her daughter in more than two months. Although her mother admits that it is not uncommon for there to be lengthy periods of time between hearing from her daughter, it is uncommon for Wanda Lemons not to call or visit during the holidays.

An investigating officer contacted a friend of Wanda Lemons from information supplied by the mother, and the friend said he had last seen her on Nov. 3, saying she had left for Texas with a truck driver. The friend heard she had gone to Texas with a truck driver named Demarcus or Darius Thomas. The officer is attempting to follow up on the lead. Because of the information received and other facts not divulged by police, authorities have determined that she fits the criteria to be entered as a missing person into the Law Enforcement Agencies Data System and National Crime Information Center databases.

Hmmm...Upon researching the Danielle Sleeper missing person case in Texas (missing 3/22), I happened upon this missing person case originating in Ohio with a Texas link, Wanda Jackson Lemons (missing from Ohio approximately 11/03/14, headed to Texas). Upon further research of both cases, it appears that these two women share a few friends in common in Texas. Not a coincidence, as both women are from or have lived in the same areas in Texas and it probably means nothing; however, it might warrant a deeper look by authorities in either state. MOO.

FBI joins search for missing women

CHILLICOTHE – City police have extra muscle in the search for the three missing area women as the Federal Bureau of Investigation joins the effort.

According to Chief Keith Washburn, the FBI and police department have reached out to other law enforcement agencies to join a task force dedicated to finding Charlotte Trego, 29, Wanda Lemons, 38, and Tiffany Sayre, 26.

It's been more than two years since Megan Lancaster's family has seen her, and now police in central Ohio are investigating a possible link between her case and several other women who have gone missing.

"We've had other family members scream at us, 'She's gone. She's dead. Get over it, go on.' And we can't. We have to know what happened to her. We want to put a rest to this. Not just her, to all of these missing women," Kadie Lancaster, Megan's siser-in-law, told 10TV.

Kentucky man gets 13½ years for forcing women into prostitution

A Kentucky man who used drugs and threats to control women he set up as prostitutes in Columbus was sentenced on Tuesday to 13½ years in prison.

Court records say that the pair had worked together to rent Columbus-area hotel rooms and advertise the services of women they forced into prostitution between September 2013 and February 2014.

The indictment said Arrick Sr. gave the women heroin in exchange for prostituting themselves and threatened to kill them if they attempted to leave.

The task force set up to help find these women includes officers from the Ross County Sheriff's Office, Chilicothe Police, The FBI, the State highway patrol, the State Attorney General's Office, nearby jurisdictions, and from the private sector, representatives from the Domestic Violation Coalition, and a representative from a human trafficking coalition.

Portsmouth Police Find No Connection to Missing Girls


Portsmouth Police say they have found no connection between cases they are working on and a working group focusing on missing girls in the Chillicothe area.

The Portsmouth Police Chief said that his office is not an active participant in the working group or task force in Ross County, but said that they will continue to communicate with members of the group and exchange information that may be of importance to their investigations.
