GUILTY OH - Woman held captive in pit, neighbor arrested, Blanchester, 26 April 2017

It makes me wonder if the previous voices he heard were other victims he had done the same thing to and were screaming to get out.

"police say he repeatedly called them to his home because he heard voices"

I hope LE investigates under his house and for any recent digging in his yard. And check to see if anyone else went missing that lived nearby.

This guy needs put away

Horrific, to be sure, but she should have pressed charges against him when he first started harrassing her with phone calls back in 2016.

I'm just glad she is safe now. Maybe get a police restraint against Dunn.

I don't think she has to worry about pressing charges or an order of protection now, unless he has a million dollars the state of Ohio wants for him to bond out of jail.

His address and the victims address are in this link, I looked on google street view and she, or her mom, lived next door.
No wonder she heard her screams.
It makes me extremely angry that media is naming the victim!!

They only don't name sex crime victims, and yet, too often, they find out a sexual assault happened after they've already shared the victims name.

Until he gets physically sober, I don't buy mental illness. His symptoms could be from synthetic marijuana or bath salts. This crime required planning and thinking. Plus it is ongoing.

Yeah. When The place I worked at was robbed at gun point I was identified in the news paper as a minor!! There's this awful gut wrenching picture of me on the phone looking out the window to my mom and sister with my hand up on the window. They identified me and them. It was awful. I was bullied at school for it.

I went to school with Dennis elementary through HS and knew his mom quite well then... Not going into detail out of respect for his parents, I can understand why the victim didn't press charges in the first incident... He has a mental illness, he was an easy going kid who wasn't aggressive, played multiple sports and I don't remember ever fighting... if anything he was sometimes too nice to people who didn't deserve his friendship... The illness I believe he has causes psychotic breaks from reality and I think that's why everyone I know and his current neighbors who know him today are so shocked that this has happened... My prayers and heart go out to the victim...

The one thing everyone is wondering is how on earth he managed to get his victim from her home and into his shed, then how did he manage to put her into the pit. At gunpoint!!??
It will be a long time - if ever - that those details will ever be made public.

I believe multiple outlets have reported the victim stated in the first incident she has had a friendship with him for around 5 years... He is a very nice person who will do anything for someone if asked but I think he clearly has been leading up to this break for at least a month... He should still be in a 30 day inpatient from early April had our healthcare system not just failed him but in turn failed the victim... He should've never been out at that time to begin with... What kind of mental healthcare is sending out someone still hearing voices within 24 hours... It takes 2 weeks for antipsychotics to be consistently effective, the police know exactly why it happened which is why they called out the breakdown of the Ohio Healthcare system as the reason it happened... It breaks my heart that his dad showed up at the scene to apologize to the police for his son's illness... I'm familiar with the mental health community around this area and there's a shortage of any good psychiatrists and virtually no inpatient place to go for help... You would be surprised to know just how many more "Dennis" are living alone with their parents constantly checking in and doing what they can, this has unfortunately become their "inpatient rehabs" since Ohio has shut so many down to save money...

OMG!
I couldn't figure out what I was reading from the news ticker till I checked out the actual thread.
I am so glad she is alive and hopefully not injured (physically).

I wonder if he got this horrible idea from the movie, Frailty and or Silence of the lambs.
He needs to be put away forever and a day.

Thanks Tssiemer.
