One of those articles upthread said that her father knew the perp. Not sure if she knew him or not.
His gf is fb friends with FS Jr. Seems likely he is probably a regular customer in the family's (apparently 24 hour...) "electronics" selling business. Seems doubtful M knew him, although the teen, who according to his fb page also seems quite fond of "electronics", might have at least recognized him from "electronics" parties in the past. But whatever, we're not here to impugn the family. They had nothing to do with this particular crime.
I agree technically, but the parents have obviously failed this child. She should not have been available to one of their 'customers' at 2 am

I don't disagree, but on the other hand, while they're not the most upstanding citizens in the country, they don't seem evil and what happened to their girl is far more punishment than they deserve for this. Hopefully, it is a wakeup call for the entire family to re-think how they live.

"The child's mother, (deleted), appeared in court on Monday on unrelated charges, including a probation violation.
A judge denied her request to be released"
Terrible. No matter what one might think of the family, the little girl needs her mama. Give her a ankle bracelet, escort her to the hospital, but let that woman see her baby!
ITA!! I don't know why she's in jail but police escort her to the hospital to hug her poor daughter. Both her and her daughters hearts are broken right now. I was hoping she was in on non-violent charges and because of that could be let out for a visit or therapy. Of course, I'm also hoping that the judge knows this but has other info we don't and that's why s/he ruled this way.

I think it's important to remember that this mother has something like 60 arrests.
This child is only 6 years old. I don't know how often she has even been around for her.
It is possible the judge has evidence which shows it wouldn't help this child to see her mother.
If my mother had been arrested that many times I don't think she would be a stable person in my life. :twocents:
Jesus Amen.
Would anyone here take their child over to be babysat by people with multiple arrests and selling "electronics" to whoever at all hours of the night? Not me. No way
I too came from a dad that was a pimp and had his "ladies" babysit me. My mom was running the streets and left me for hours in my crib while she neglected me. I thank god everyday that my grandmother said, enough. She removed me at a young age and fought for custody from her daughter and my dads family. Which consist of ex-cons, street pharmacists, and just the ghetto of the ghettoist.
I have cousins that grew up in what I call street life madness. Momma's and daddies in out of jail, illegal selling of god knows what, and neglect and abuse. They had babies at 15, work low wage jobs and have multiple instances of daily drama. Its a vicious cycle that never ends sometimes.
Just cause your parents love you isnt enough. My parents loved me, but were not mature enough to take care of me. They were a hot mess at the time. Now they are o.k. and i have a relationship with both.
As for me. I have a really good job. College graduate and had my first kid at 33. I had a rough teenage years, but I am who I am cause I was raised by a grandmother that taught me right from wrong and took care of me.
