Search continues for Canton mother missing for nearly three weeks

A mother of two is still missing, after disappearing in early September. Katie Fuller’s friends and family have searched across the city, and have yet to find answers.

According to Fuller, the police now have the car, but family and friends have conducted searches in the area it was seen, like Albert Reiter Park.

Canton police searching for mother who's been missing for 3 weeks

Canton police are looking for Katie Fuller, 27, who was last seen or heard from about three weeks ago.

Katie Fuller, whom police described as homeless, has brown hair and blue eyes, is 5-foot-5 and weighs 130 pounds.

Fuller's mother told police Sept. 12 that she last had contact with her daughter by text message on Sept. 7. She told police she previously talked with Fuller almost daily.

Fuller was reported to have stayed sometimes in a Jackson Township motel under another name, and to have stayed sometimes with a man who lives on McKinley Avenue SW. When police contacted him, he said Fuller did not drive him to a grocery store on Sept. 9 as planned.

Per MSM reports linked above we know the following about Katie:

- She has two young sons who apparently both live with someone else.
- She contacted her family daily prior to 7 September (her mother) and 9 September (her sister).
- Katie is described as 'homeless' by LE.
- She owns a vehicle, which was apparently seen being driven by someone other than Katie days after her last contact.
- Her vehicle was found abandoned in the 800 block of McKinley Avenue SW with the license plate removed.
- She sometimes stayed at a hotel using a false name, other times with a man who also lives on McKinley Avenue SW.
- Katie was apparently involved with drugs at some point before she was last seen.

Per Google Maps, there's not much within the actual 800 block of McKinley Avenue SW, however there are numerous residences and businesses in that general area.

We don't know who may have been driving her car after Katie was last heard from, but LE recovered her vehicle and hopefully ran forensics tests on the vehicle.

I'm wondering about this man she apparently lived with occasionally. When was the last time he saw and/or spoke with Katie. Since the man indicated Katie planned to take him to a grocery store on 9 September, he likely would have talked with her shortly before this time. Also, how far away from his residence on McKinley Avenue SW was her vehicle located?

Do we know if during the last few phone calls and texts with her friends and family Katie indicated she was in any kind of potential danger? Had there been any recent changes in her lifestyle?

In addition, it would be helpful to know if Katie's cell phone or other personal items were found in her vehicle when it was abandoned, or are those items still missing? Did her vehicle show any obvious signs of violence or struggle?

On November 4, authorities responded to a call reporting the discovery of a decomposed body on N. Orchard Rd. NE. The Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office arrived at the scene to investigate the incident.

The remains were transported to the Cuyahoga County Coroner’s Office, where a comprehensive autopsy was conducted. As part of the identification process, DNA samples were extracted and compared against local, state, and national databases.

After nearly a month of diligent efforts, on November 30, the human remains were positively identified as those of 27-year-old Katie Ann Fuller from Stark County. Fuller had been reported missing by her family to the Canton Police Department, who had last made contact with her on September 9.

After nearly a month of diligent efforts, on November 30, the human remains were positively identified as those of 27-year-old Katie Ann Fuller from Stark County. Fuller had been reported missing by her family to the Canton Police Department, who had last made contact with her on September 9.

A most unfortunate outcome for Katie's family.

Regarding locations, Katie's car was reported as abandoned on McKinley Ave SW in Canton, with the license plate missing, in late September. In addition, sightings were made of "strangers" driving Katie's after she went missing.

Her final contact with family was 9 September. Her remains were found on 4 November, somewhere along N. Orchard Rd. in Tuscarawas County. This area is roughly 10 miles south from where her car was found.

So far there is no COD mentioned in the MSM reports so we don't know how she died. Katie's remains were described as "decomposed" so apparently she has been deceased for quite some time.

The body of a missing Ohio women was found in the Ohio Valley. The Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office said they received a call that a decomposed body was found on N. Orchard Rd. NE in Sandy Township.

Officials say they were able to identify the remains as 27-year-old, Katie Ann Fuller of Stark County. Katie had been previously reported missing to the Canton Police Department by her family. Katie last had communication with her family on September 9, 2023.

The Sheriff’s Office said they don’t suggest Katie suffered any trauma prior to her death and her family describes that she was known to struggle with substance abuse. The actual cause of death may take several months for the complete autopsy, forensic testing and toxicology results, the Office said.

Was somewhat surprised to see charges recently on this case. Not for causing Katie’s death, but indicted for disposing of her remains, after LE believes she overdosed as the defendants’ residence.
