Stranger things have happened. Maybe he's told someone some sob story about "them" trying to take Aja away from him. It's hard to believe, though, that whoever might be hiding him wouldn't have heard the reports about Tanya's murder and the fact that Lester IS NOT Aja's father or any kind of relative of hers AT ALL.

Actually I bet lots of folks across the country don't know about Hobbs. And I really believe he fled Oklahoma and Texas. I think LE is looking for him in Texas because he went there the last time he fled.

I would almost put money on the line that this is either in CA or FL. And I bet very few in CA or FL know about him, except for those of us who participate in forums such as this one.

I think CA because of the relative issue and I think FL because of the rumors that he was on line with another pedophile/SO.

Not that easy to cross into Mexico anymore - one needs a passport these days.

I'm thinking that, if they're in Texas, the Lake Texoma region - a sizeable area - would be a good place to look; it's under three hours from Geronimo and lake areas always attract many - what's a good way to put this - "non-traditional" types to their shores and hideaways.

I was just thinking that if someone who knows him is hiding him, surely they've heard what happened and know that Aja isn't his child. Unless they just take his word for it and don't bother to check out his story. But I guess he could have conned some stranger that hasn't heard about it.

He murdered Aja's mother and kidnapped beautiful Aja. By the way, he hates her and forces her to eat jalapeno peppers - one of his milder punishments. He is dangerous so be careful

My heart breaks every time her picture pops into my head (which is many times a day)

I worry if she is safe, is she warm, is she scared, is he hurting her, has he "got" rid of her? So many thoughts enter my mind.

I just want her found. I want her back in her daddy's arms. I want her safe from that monster!!

If you mean by large scale- a bunch of people and a bunch of dogs and maybe some other added help- there are. I know that doesn't seem like much though, considering what should be out there.
But she is still in the front of a lot of peoples minds.

Try not to be discouraged. I understand how you feel and wish we did not have to take this on ourselves because no one else has requested help- although I did hear that perhaps that was in the works because we need a drone. However, Oriah got back yesterday and is planning a new search for this weekend/early next week. In the course of talking with her, I noticed a sign above the kennels in the oddest place, which for some reason have never noticed before. It is very small, and truthfully Oriah probably stuck it up out of sight, just so it would take me awhile to notice, lol.

It is a Margaret Mead quote, and reads:
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has. "

We can find Lester, and then find Aja. Or find Aja, and then find Lester. Is there anyone out there willing to email their local tv stations (no matter where you are located) with the US Marshal wanted info, clearly stating they could be ANYWHERE and you want to know if he's in your backyard, so to speak? I can compile a list of local and regional stations in every state if we need to.

It seems to me that if this child is possibly still alive and out there somewhere, we have the ability, with the help of Websleuths, to find her. Time is of urgency when a child has been abducted by a convicted felon. I know that everything in this case does not point in a good direction for this child, but there's no body. So let's all keep looking? It doesn't matter where you are... just keep watching out for Lester Hobbs and Aja- who may not look anything like you expect them to.

There are so many out there, but let's not be overwhelmed. Instead, let's focus on whichever missing person we feel the need to focus on (right now, mine is Aja Johnson), and help find them.

burbqueen, I don't know what part of TX you are in, but do you have the ability to research vacant properties online with acreage in your area?

burbqueen, if wherever you are in TX and are not seeing flyers or posters or anything, could you possibly print some out and just put them wherever you happen to go- whether its the grocery store, walmart, a gas station- anywhere? Even posters in black and white are better than none at all if you don't have a color printer.

Alleged Murderer's Family Pleads For Release of Aja Johnson

GERONIMO, Oklahoma -- The family of Lester Hobbs is pleading for him to let 7-year-old Aja Johnson go.

Investigators believe Lester Hobbs took the girl after killing her mother in January. Tonya Hobbs was found dead by her sister-in-law Mildred Anderson.

"It was horrifying. We had tried for hours to get in touch with Tonya and Lester after the car had been missing for several hours. We kept calling cell phones and got the voicemail. We then realized the phone was ringing from inside the camper. When I stepped in, all I saw was an arm and a hand sticking out," Anderson said.

Lester's brother Buck said he was horrified but not surprised when he found out about Tonya's death.

"He's a very violent man. He had made threats to kill her many times. I don't think he's been with one woman he hasn't been," Buck Hobbs said.

Buck said he wants his brother brought to justice, but more importantly he wants Aja Johnson to get home safely.
