They needed to get a search warrant for the car and for the property that the car was found on. (which makes sense)

They have the warrants now.

J.J. Johnson, Aja's father, said an OSBI agent visited his house just before 6 p.m. and told him two bodies had been found. The agent could not confirm that one of them was his daughter.

Watching television coverage today from the scene, however, Johnson said he saw a pink and blue jacket he'd purchased for his daughter — and knew she was dead.
