GUILTY OK - Christopher Lane, 22, Australian, slain in thrill killing, Duncan, 16 Aug 2013

One of the statistics that I found interesting was the one mentioned back in the thread that most of the crimes committed by the adolescent group fell in the 3-6pm (or was it 4-7pm) timeslot.

I don't think that timeslot represents them being unsupervised, I think they are probably unsupervised a great deal of time.

That time slot represents the hours AFTER school and BEFORE working folks return home. It would be the prime time to burglarize houses.

I keep thinking of the courage of the one kid who refused to join the gang. They threatened him too. That is one brave young men. How many other young men just go along to get along...because they have to live in those areas...and end up in prison or dead.

These are other victims. Why are all these people expendable? Whatever we are throwing money at all these years...it is not working. And, these kids aren't working either. Too much time to get in trouble. They dont come home tired from a job helping the family.

I think the kids father had a LOT to do with it! The kid probably feared his father more than the little gang bangers.

They were trying to recruit him for a reason, I am betting he was starting to hang out with them and his dad found out and laid the smack down, at that point the little "gang" wanted to pressure him to join.

Chris' funeral was held today in St Therese's church in Essendon.

Just thought some of you might like to know that the Oklahoma state flag was draped over his casket.

It was in Russia.
Yup in the Ukraine.

The Dnepropetrovsk Maniacs. They killed many not just the one victim, they were targeting animals and various humans. That was the most disturbing video I have ever seen, along with one other from Serbia.

Different from this case though, this was done for "cred" whereas the others involved hard core sadism.

Really interesting longform article about this case in Vanity Fair:

http://www.vanityfair.com/society/2014/02/murder-teenagers-duncan-oklahoma

At some point on August 16, Chancey Luna met up with Edwards and Jones. Police say the three teenagers eventually drove the Ford Focus over to an atypically rundown house on Country Club Road. The location was well known to the police: they had searched it several months earlier, investigating the convenience-store robbery ring.

The house was also in the vicinity of where Chris Lane was staying with his girlfriend, Sarah Harper, and her family for a couple of days before going back to college. The Harpers’ house was on one of those tentacles off of Country Club Road. There was a bay window on the front and then seven symmetrical windows on the side, with a hedge trimmed up tight.

Lane and Harper had met in 2009 at a party at the beginning of freshman year at Redlands Community College, in El Reno. His Australian accent was hard to resist. But what intrigued her more was how he just seemed to deal so well with everything. She was anxious about starting college 75 miles away from home; he was 9,009 miles away from home, on the other side of the world.

DUNCAN, OKLA. – Three teenagers accused of fatally shooting an Australian baseball player as he jogged down an Oklahoma street, allegedly because they were bored, are expected in court Tuesday for a hearing that could reveal details about the case.

They are reporting in Australia this morning (TV news) that one of the teenagers has turned star witness for the prosecution, and will testify against the other two.

Our MSM says ....

The youngest Oklahoma boy charged with the murder of Australian baseball player Chris Lane has become the prosecution's star witness.

Edwards Jr told the court how on August 16 last year his friend, Chancey Luna, 16, fired a .22 calibre hand gun from the back seat of a car driven by his friend Michael Jones, 18.

He also said he heard Luna say after the shooting the gun was supposed to be loaded with blanks, not bullets.

Fourth person charged in 'thrill kill' of Australian college player

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2014/04/1...-australian-college-player/?intcmp=latestnews

From your article:

Oddesse Barnes, 22, of Duncan, was charged with accessory after murder in the death of 22-year-old Christopher Lane of Melbourne, for hiding the murder weapon.

Good I'm glad they are getting anyone involved in this murder. They will probably eventually use him as another witness in the case.

There is also a gag order in this case.

Oddesse John David Barnes, 23, of Duncan, admitted in a guilty plea Friday that he concealed the murder weapon — a .22-caliber revolver.
