Thank you my_tee_mouse! I apologize for not being much help here, but I will try. And thank you for the wonderful compliment, you have no idea how much it means to me right now! (((Hugs)))

I need to finish reading this thread, and then I will see where I can best help, if that sounds good to you wonderful posters?

Woofie, still nothing in the MSM?

snip!

Not a thing. Just checked again. Deafening silence. The news cycle speeds on.

I'm a few pages behind but I wanted to jump in before I lose some train of thoughts. I'm reading a few comments about JJ not ever seeing Gypsy and I remember reading that JJ posted herself that they had the type of relationship that it wouldn't be uncommon to go a couple of days not talking. I also read that they had been friends for 4 years prior. Has it been said now long they have been together or how long Daryn allegedly had Gypsy? (who Daryn inherited by Gypsy making her way into the apartment and never leaving)

Also, I think that if Daryn did not in fact harm himself, SOMEONE knows something. There would need to be a second vehicle involved. Either 1 - to pick him up after he abandoned his car (staging it to look like he was potentially a crime victim) or 2 - he was in fact a victim, and whomever had control over his vehicle, needed a ride.

Ok, back to google I go. I laugh to myself wondering what IT security is thinking if God forbid, my search engine is being checked out. Furries really is taking the cake.

=)

Was his wallet or cell phone found in the car?

I personally haven't felt any mockery over the Furry issue here - I hadn't heard of it before so for me it was just something to get my head around in terms of how it could in any way explain anything at all. I think that's probably the same for most people. :)

Oh and it was also mentioned in the context of it obviously being a little bit unusual so a lot of us wondered why, with that as a kind of biting point, mainstream media hadn't really taken it up.

BBM

Nope...no mockery...just gentle humor...the same kind we use on ourselves and each other...the same kind we'd use if Daryn were here to play right along with us.

And nodding my head as to the MSM aspect because this case needs all the MSM it can get for accurate, official news and information.

Do you know if Daryn owned a sleeping bag?

  • #747
:) I read up on it and while early on there was the stigma of this basically being weirdos and sex fiends, the main stream media is trying to set the record straight now that it is not that way. Every "group" has some on the "outer range" (ComiCon - now that was a wake up call for me! LOL I attended several years with my friends to watch their son) but most are just everyday people with a certain interest. Although I had not heard of the furry community I place no judgement. They aren't hurting anyone and are having fun sharing an interest!

BBM

And yet we have to remember that every group...even Sunday School classes...even convents...even the priesthood...contains some "weirdos and sex fiends" within its membership.

BBM: That is so true, my_tee_mouse. I haven't seen any mockery. I didn't even know what a "furry" group was or anything about "furries" until this thread. I've learned a great deal.

I've also seen a lot of wonderful work done by WS posters. It's great to have a community like this that comes together when they are needed!

The 750+ posts and 18,200+ page views and the resultant untold number of outreach, real life posts and inquiries by members are all your doing, Mytee! This thread would have basically ended when it began without your efforts!
:yourock:

:blushing:
Thanks, Schnooks! And we couldn't have kept it alive if it weren't for our dedicated, educated, and expert sleuthers!

I figure that with virtually nil MSM and so much erroneous information being bantered about "out there" in cyber land, we are one of the best chances there is for finding Daryn. (Pretty sad but true).

I'm working up a casemap as best as I can. I don't have a lot on there but here is what I have. http://goo.gl/maps/mcPib

I can't find the post where someone seems to have just about pinpointed where the car was found. Once I find it I will edit the location for the car.

STEADFAST, these are all excellent questions. Thank you for posting these. I had a few questions also, but I couldn't word them as well as you did! You ROCK!

Welcome to the forum Val! I am sorry it is under these circumstances...

BBM. Oh yeah! Agree cubed.

Although it is entirely possible Darraby left of his own accord...

Let's not forgot something bad could have happened to him. Carjacked/abducted/murdered etc. None of us want that to be the case- but maybe some of us should be keeping an eye out on the Oklahoma side of things? I will volunteer. I think at least wfgodot is also keeping an eye out. When I have time later today I will also go back to the furry sites and continue to look around for him.

I've not seen this mentioned.
When LE searched the Mt. Hood area around the car did they use any dogs?
If so, did the dogs pick up ANY kind of scent/trail?

And also excuse my ignorance, but why would LE need a search warrant to look into the laptop of a missing person?
I would think permission should easily be bypassed in a situation like this.

833 posts and counting. That's a pretty significant achievement in a thread concerning itself with an Oklahoma man in his 30s who has gone missing, in a case in which thus far there has been no independent reporting by any MSM.

Kudos to all posters.

Hi, Nymeria. The reason LE needs a search warrant is just in case this case turns into a criminal case, they need to protect the "case."
