Nope, this hound is on the scent and I got the right tree, that Colton guy might be the key.

Anyone know if Colton knows anyone else in the family as in being used by them as an inside to know what was going on in the family?

Well he was given Bobby's smart phone, but wasn't related to Bobby except via marriage. Wait, now you know, that cell phone wound up in a swimming pool, IIRC. Supposedly it was a careless mistake, but maybe he threw it in there deliberately to send a message to someone. Hmmmm.

Whoops. I am sorry about my post, Believe09. I just think it could be of interest that he isn't found in the Eufaula area any longer according to internet searches.

Yeah, and if someone wanted to kill them r/t drugs or inheritance money, why wouldn't they just shoot them quickly and run/drive away? The area is uninhabited, so why risk making them wander into the forest where they might overpower their abductor?

Actually the area isn't uninhabited at all. Rural- but not uninhabited. There are folks who live on all 'sides' of the mountain, and some who 'squat' as well.

Also there are oil co. vehicles that travel frequently to well sites.

justthinkin- this is not directed at you, just using your post to jump off of.

Unfortunately, it's a prime example of the tremendous issue with evidence in the Jamisons case.
We don't have any.

The only reason we think Bobby's phone was given to Sherilyn's son and subsequently damaged/disappeared is because a third party told us that. What happened to Sherilyn's phone?
The truck we can more reasonably assume was given back because we have some photo evidence- but at the same time, still third party info- and quite frankly, I don't know that we can assume it to be the same vehicle.
The cash- again, we have photo evidence...but no physical evidence. How do we know it was given to Star? What about the Jamison's lake home? What about the container? What about all of their stuff? The missing .22? How do we know a .22 existed to begin with, if it wasn't registered, and it's missing??

I think we need to go back to the beginning, and take a really hard look at what is fact- and what is conjecture.

Yes, I see that Billy is the defendant so I believe Billy would be submitting to drug testing.

Who is the second male seen going to and from the truck in the Disappeared video?
Disappeared - 2x10 - Paradise Lost - YouTube

begin watching at 29:54

Is it Sherilyn's son or is it the boarder or someone else?

You have an excellent eye! It certainly appears to be a 2nd male (with a darker shirt vs one with a white shirt) who is helping them get ready for their trip that day the surveilance caught on camera.

Thanks for bringing this up!

Yeah, but there are not any houses in the location where the Jamisons disappeared. In the Paradise Lost video, the sheriff stated that they were as close to being “off the grid” as they could get in that area.

IMO, a killer didn’t need to force them to leave that area in order to kill them without being seen. Why would they be taken if someone only wanted to kill them? It doesn't make sense if the killer only wanted to end their lives because they wanted revenge or the inheritance.

Every time I watch that video, I pick up something new. From the incident between Sherilyn and the boarder, it says, "she picked up one of Bobby's guns.

Questions:
How many guns did Bobby own?
Are they all accounted for?

In one of the dramatizations about the spirits, it says, Bobby asked the minister/advisor if there were special bullets he could buy to kill the spirits.

Would a man who owned more than one gun have ever asked a question such as that, even if he was delusional? I think not. Delusional doesn't mean that someone forgets everything they know.
Respectfully shortened and BBM

Yes, he would have. People who are delusional have very illogical beliefs that go against all evidence and all their past knowledge. (Example: When one of my favorite patients stopped taking his medication at home, he became delusional again and decided that he was Elvis. He is an elderly black man and had never been Elvis.)

"off the grid" to LE is typically people or situations that dont fit into the norm...That phrase from Beauchamp stuck out to me because in my experience when LE is using that term they are using it to describe maybe, for example, survivalists or people running guns or cooking drugs...kwim? "Off the grid" is a lifestyle choice.

I agree (although to me "off the grid" means a vacation where I leave my cell phone off, lol.)
But I will again say- there are people living on the mountain. The population density is certainly not high, but each of the access roads have residents- and I reiterate, there are transients there as well. And don't forget the hunters!
Point in fact, one neighbor called the SO more than a few times to report the abandoned truck.
So people saw it there all during the course of that week.

Kinda makes you go hmmm.

bbm certainly does make you go hmmmm. i wonder if the "one neighbor" who called several times revealed in the conversations that there was a dog in the truck? i cant believe people saw the truck and didn't look inside. in fact i would expect the neighbor to look inside before he called the sheriff. i know i would and most (if not all) mountain people i know would as well. hmmmmm

  • #572
Even if the neighbor didnt "cop" to looking in the truck (if he/she did), I think the fact that the SO didnt check it out themselves after the first, second etc phone call is a very curious one.

Yep.
Sorta goes along with my head-scratching about the broken window. Was the window broken by concerned residents in order to get the dog out before LE responded? Or did LE break the truck window when they responded to a call about the truck? If so- where is the evidence of that? For example, what was the window broken with? Did LE give the dog to local residents to take care of for a few days before the dog was given to Star (as reported by some?) Or was the dog already being cared for by residents?

Really (and I know everyone is tired of hearing me talk about the dog, lol) the possibility of the dog being in the vehicle for 10 days is not the only issue with the dog. Was the truck locked or NOT? If the keys were in the truck, did someone auto lock the doors from inside the vehicle- heck maybe the dog did? Auto lock doors from drivers side? Key fob? An extra set of keys that someone else had outside the vehicle?

And when exactly was the window in the truck broken- allegedly to remove the dog- and by whom? Personally, if I had a concern about an abandoned vehicle in my area, I'd take a peek through a window. And a realistic looking doll that looks like a small child (maybe one I've even seen before) was in there- and a yapping dog going nuts inside... would have me on the phone to LE as I was picking the lock. Idk. Am I crazy?

Lots and lots of questions...

How about a third or fourth??

Hmm. Maybe they did 'check it out'. And found some stuff they were interested in.

O/T-I was witness to a horrific car crash that happened in front of me-I parked on a median, jumped out and checked out the driver of the car that was hit head on. In the back of the car there was a car seat and what looked like a baby on the floor board. I could not wrench that back door open fast enough-but it was a doll. I didnt stop to consider what I was seeing...I wrenched the door open to pull the child (I thought it was) out.

So....what happened here in the Jamisons truck?

Thank goodness it turned out to be only a doll, and I'm so sorry to hear about that experience. Have had several of those myself, and- well- heck- I've even been known to shout at bystanders to get back, I think there's a child in here (empty child/booster seats in abandoned vehicles, or in vehicular accidents scare the bejesus out of me.)

So it does make me wonder... who was/were the actual 1st responder(s) to the Jamison's truck/site/scene?

And how did they react? Can we get some clarification of fact for that? And if so- where?!

Wouldnt there be a dispatch or log book? Wouldnt there be tape of the multiple calls into LE? There have to be some transcripts available of those.

You would think, wouldn't you? What there is... is a bunch of hand written notes on a simple carbon-copy tear off 'messages' book- like one that you would buy at Office Depot or whatever. And frankly, I'd be surprised if the original copies still exist. Although they probably should have gone to the OSBI, so maybe they are floating around in a locker or file somewhere. I'll check my FOIA file, lol.

As for dispatch- good luck getting that info! But please try! I would be eternally grateful!

  • #579
in another case, I receved photo copies of just what you described...tear off CC's of message pads, but they recorded the incident numbers etc right on there.

I am willing to take a stab at the dispatch logs of the 911 calls...it should be available under FOIA...in every case I have requested docs on, at a minimum I have received the dispatch logs and the incident reports.

Why would this one be any different, right? :)

You guys crack me up. Red Oak on a good day has 581 population, I didn't even know they had a cop, the Sheriff's office is the size of a bathroom, I doubt they have recording capabilities unless its an answering machine.
There are 4,709 housing units at an average of 6 per square mile with a total population of 11,154 for all of Latimer Co.
As you can might can see, they dont have the best crime fighting equipment there.
