LOL. I was just about to nominate you, as I, poor I, alas, don't even own a TV! Yes, I'm a semi-Luddite and only look at the internet and listen to the radio. (TV = bah humbug.) But! If I did have one I would gladly transcribe. One of the only things I'm good at.

I did notice that the Jamison show is called "Paradise Lost," so here're lines from the Milton poem, perhaps approximating what the depths of despair of one or more of the Jamisons - noted as being "obsessed with death," having money problems (allegedly), etc. etc. - were like before they went missing:

Which way shall I fly
Infinite wrath and infinite despair?
Which way I fly is hell; myself am hell;
And in the lowest deep a lower deep,
Still threat’ning to devour me, opens wide,
To which the hell I suffer seems a heaven.

Paradise Lost. Book iv.

No problem on the TV. Now I know why you write so well.

Is there TV reception on Panola Mountain?

I think they have cable and satellite both. I'll check

Allegiance goes to Wilburton and Red Oak...not sure about Panola but I see satellite receptors all over the mountains and they have cell towers

They would need electric first! (smack my head moment)

Knew about the bobcats, and panthers...but Bears...some things a gal just does't want to know.

The above mentioned has me less worried then than Satan.

i lived in hartshorne for 10 years. satan lives there. i doubt said "state agencies" will be able to solve this if it continues to be a mystery.

Nanny2five is not the first I have seen say Satan lives there.

How does everyone in Oklahoma know that Satan lives there. Why do they say that? I am starting to think they mean a certain person instead of just meaning it is hell there.

Nanny2five was actually the person who first mentioned the "evil lives in Hartshorne" thing, back on thread #3:

Now, in Kansas, we all know that Hell, or, actually a portal to it - one of the nine, I think it is, worldwide - is in Stull, a little town outside Lawrence. At least it is so-rumored, by people who like to imagine that Hell has portals, Hell is an actual place, etc. etc. (I've been through Stull and seen its "portal to Hell" church [now torn down] and graveyard many times; no Satan sightings!)

Can you all give me some ideas of the areas you would like pictures of? I can't get there this week, but next should be ok for an outing. (unless drs apts aren't so good)

"evil lives in Hartshorne"

The only one I, personally ever knew there was Warren Spahn.....http://www.baseball-almanac.com/awards/warrenspahnaward.shtml
and he wasn't evil. But you have to remember the economy around here is horrible and meth labs are everywhere....we had a meth lab blow up across the street from the police station WGS!

Spahnie was a great left-hander - the older he got, the better he pitched. He's buried in Hartshorne.

Nanny2five's post (above) is well worth reading in re: what it's like when drugs overrun a rural area: "the dragon was bigger than the moat" is a great metaphor.

I've sort of considered Poteau to be a candidate for "most evil place in Oklahoma," but that's just because of the recent Neff and Rilee-Wilson unsolved murders. We up here in NE OK were ranking for a few meth-fueled years, but it's been a long while since a sitting sheriff was knifed to death by his wife in a drunken brawl, or has been sent to prison while still serving in office (I think those happened back to back when I lived up here before).

No, I'll take my black lab, my glock and maybe my hubby if he's nice..oh and my 4 wheel drive suv with gps...

Seriously, don't worry...we have worked these areas for years and I really have no fear about going. Besides...yall have already promised to come look for me if I don't come back.

Nope wfgodot,
I have seen it other places.

Example in comments.

Well, that's Oklahoma in general and, speaking of the earthquakes mentioned, if one factors that whole dizzy argument into preconditions of Hell, Jones OK (Tony Day lived there when he went missing) would be a candidate, as it's often at the epicenter of our local 'quakes.

Here's Stull KS and the rumors:

Maybe you should have your tarot cards read first.

You're better prepared than I'd be; all I'd have is my Boston terrier and my "Hard Glock Cafe" T-shirt.

Can you stuff $30,000 cash in a bank bag under your seat while you are at it? No seriously, be careful. I don't think what happend to the jamisons was a random act of violence... But I would hate to be proven wrong.
