On the Facebook Find the Jamisons page, Lis Exon, OETA public TV journalist, has a request for friends/family of the missing trio to call her as on 16 September OETA will air a show on the family, and she is doing an "in-depth piece" about them. There's a phone number given in her entry. It should be okay for those with knowledge of, based on an interest in, the case to also phone her, as she's also looking for "anyone that can help with this story." Here's the FtJ link.
I just found that.

Hopefully someone will youtube it and post the link here. <hint, hint, someone must be in that viewing area, right?>

Well, err... hmm.
How odd.
Must be why they never responded to my questions regarding the Jamison search.
Did that group search for the J's?

Do you think they've been scared off or paid off and are using "retiring" as an excuse?

Yup, glutton for punishment! I've been reading more forums, researching legal docs, real estate site, etc., so pardon my seeming absence for a few days. I've been flipping through site after site, learning and catching up on a lot.

The following is just my opinion (with a bit of "rumor" mixed it. I say "rumor" because I personally have not seen any documentation listing exact diagnosis or treatments).

A) Oriah - PRESCRIPTIONS:
With regard to the prescription bottles found in the Jamison Family's truck. That is something that bothered me, as soon as, I learned about the fact that Bobby Jamison had a back problem (to the point he possibly slouched when standing). I have back issues, I had a 360 back fusion. 1st, there's no way someone suffering from back issues that bad (IMHO) is going to be able to cover much of the terrain on Red Oak Mountain (from all that I've seen of it). 2nd, there is no way that someone who has been on prescription pain medication for an on-going back problem that still exists and is seemingly as bad as Bobby Jamison was rumored to have one (Again - IMHO), is going to just up and stop taking pain medication cold turkey! (Btw, Dr's don't even recommend anyone doing that, because of the shock to your system as most pain medication/prescribed opiates have the added compound of acetaminophen mixed into them, which your body becomes addicted to over time, so suddenly ceasing in-take versus gradually lowering your in-take levels, can cause your body to go into withdrawal and depending on medication in-take levels, it can cause shock, and actually cause death).

Point is, Bobby Jamison, would have to be getting his prescriptions from somewhere or someone, if he were around to take them still. (IMHO)

I'm not sure what Shirelyn was on, if anything, as I have only heard "rumors" she occasionally went off her medications, whatever they were.

B) Little726 - "COPS" GRANT FUND BAN
I looked at the article you posted, yes, the LE had a ban in 2009, but that article stated it ended "in March"..also did you note that the Sheriff (Israel Beauchamp) at the time said he wasn't even aware of a ban, and that he had not requested any grant money? Yeah, because weaponry of that caliber is so cheap! I'm sure there are LOTS of local county Sheriff Offices across the U.S. that can afford to "purchase" such weaponry! (NOT!!) *sheesh*

C) LATIMER COUNTY SHERIFF's OFFICE:
I went back on their website today (www.latimercountysheriff.com) and "oddly enough", instead of discussing 'fancy' recently "granted" built-in video sunglasses, loose cattle roaming about, and a new cattle database. The Sheriff's message is ALL about how efficient at stopping crime their department happens to be (quoting numbers and everything)! There are two arrow buttons shown in the left corner of the page, that is suppose to allow you to flip back to previous (<) or next (>) listed Sheriff's messages (on my cell the back/previous arrow button doesn't seem to work), so I'm not sure if the "flip to previous" arrow button actually does or does not work. I would certainly find it interesting if that prior message discussing video sunglasses, etc. has been removed. Only from the perspective of there no longer being archived proof of the Sheriff's statements focusing on a loose roaming cattle, a new cattle database, and newly granted built-in video sunglasses, when there is still a whole family missing (The Jamison Family: Bobby, Shirelyn, and Madyson), 2 girls shot dead, and a on-going serious meth production/sales issue in Latimer County, OK, and no actual "conclusions/arrests" to either the Missing Family or Murdered Girls cases.

I don't know much about Sheriff Robert Brooks, but I would be interested to know if any WS has experience contacting him or his office regarding the Jamison Family case.
Personally, I am wondering about his sincerity. Researching the history of corruption and inefficiency of the local LE in OK, a sweeping generalization, I know, but I've seen too much over the last few months NOT to question local LE in OK, until they prove actual interest/effort to stop/solve crimes versus ignoring them.
The Latimer County Sheriff's Office has to realize the scrutiny they remain under, due to ongoing interest in the Jamison Family's disappearance.
People can say what they want, but I think there are enough of us interested parties out there to keep the candle lit and the magnifying glass on the local LE, for years to come! At least, that's my own intention, along with getting professional help to look at this case, until there are some definitive answers!

LOVING IT! -- PORTIONS OF SHERIFF ROBERT BROOK's CURRENTLY POSTED MESSAGE DATED 09/07/11:
(The portions are quoted verbatim; however, the commas were adjusted to show up properly-except under Sheriff's signature in order to show how they posted on their site, since whom ever does the Sheriff's page doesn't know how to write HTML code or is using a program, that does not post commas properly online -- typo and all):

"Our jail activity kept at a steady pace during August. We booked 77 people which is down from 83 in July. Out in the field there were eleven reports generated as follows; 7 assaults, 2 breaking and entering, 1 larceny/thefts, and 1 auto/A.T.V. thefts. I am very happy to see that theft cases were down from July. In addition to our local theft cases, we were able to help a couple of our neighboring counties with some of their theft cases. We are still working cases from previous moths. You probably noticed that we were also able to catch a few dopers and one of the dope cooks we caught back in July was sentenced to ten years in prison. I'd like to give the D.A.'s office a big pat on the back for that one."...

..."As you all have probably figured out, I can't stand thieves!"..

D) wfgodot - OETA TV PROGRAM SCHEDULED 09/16/11:
It's about time the Media shows interest in highlighting this case. I realize that it is through the efforts of a few select Journalists/Reports that this Missing Jamison Family Case is even being brought to the attention of the public, so THANK YOU!! TO EACH OF THEM!! As a member of John Q public, your efforts are appreciated...and to those Media that are NOT focusing on the Jamison Family disappearance, SHAME ON YOU! You ought to either be pushing whom ever you need in order to cover this story or turn in your membership card to the human race!!

--- Praying for the MISSING Jamison Family, where ever they may be! ---

Did you not know?

Weird they wouldnt respond to your questions. Wonder why?
I mean a professional exchange is often something that is done even years after the retirement right?

Off topic slightly.

Also did they help in the search for Joe Neff?

BBM:
Yes. And it was over two years ago that I made my inquiry, actually. I suppose illness or a similar personal situation might explain both the lack of response, and the retirement (?)

You know what's really odd? I know one of the persons they 'thanked' on their web site. And I don't think this person knows what they are being thanked for! :waitasec:

ETA: I will check on the Joe Neff connection.

Money is not the motive. Cant be. There was money in the door and the purse and under the seat. Right? We have know way to tell what was in the breifcase but we shouldnt assume it was money. Paper work dealing with a land deal maybe? Oil rights something. There is something we are missing.

Whatever the motive is ,it isnt money IMO. At least not in immediate terms.

  • #529
Money certainly could have been a byproduct of the deed, though.

I have to agree with you, soul. There was money left in the Jamisons wallets.

Wfg, if it was over money, that would mean one or two people. Who would benefit if the young Jamison family was out of the picture?

And yes, we can't be dubbed into believing there was money in the briefcase! Heck, we don't even know if there WAS a briefcase!

Not saying it was over money, but I certainly think the briefcase/satchel thing did contain quite a bit of currency, and is missing, as is a certain amount of money known to be on hand.

Ok, here are just a few of my thoughts:

1) The security "video" confiscated from the Jamison Family home, should show if there was or was not 'a briefcase', having said that I obviously have not seen it, so I do not know.
2) I do not know of any actual documentation, as I was unable to find any, so any WS that has the info if it exists, please share. I heard a rumor-as it was unsubstantiated, as no proof provided, that there was a land deal, sale of land, by Bobby Jamison's father, and a day or two prior to their disappearance, Bobby had cashed the check he received for payment on that land deal. Rumor has it that the amount was double the amount found in the truck (remember there were 2 bank bags found?), and that the amount found was actually Bobby's half (rumor-that he had it stashed so Sherilyn would not spend it, but who can know the inner workings of a relationship?).

3) Point being, it would explain why the truck wasn't searched, especially if they got into a car w/someone to go "look at land" somewhere else (as is often the "attempt" w/land deals up there from the rumors --substantiated by links to a couple of seemingly questionable real estate holding ventures on the mountain based out of TX).

4) I'm curious to know if any LE ever checked with the ppl at the Bank where any checks were cashed the days prior to their disappearance.

5) I haven't found anything and I know it's a stretch (a long one) but anyone look to see if satellite pic taken in the area days leading up to and day of?....just curious!

6) The search, well, inexperience?, incompetence?, poor record keeping? I'd say pick one and run with it, and that it's a minor point (just my opinion), as the focus should be on the where are they now? And by whose hand did they get there? And why?

Ok, guess those are all my thoughts on what's been posted recently.

#5...hmm good idea, curiosityscat. I can search the satellite databases and see what I can find.

#6...I gotta disagree about searches being a minor point. Searchers claiming multiple HRD hits- well, let's just say I pick incompetence. :(

Thank you for reposting, little.

Why do ya'll think the rear passenger seat was broken?

Oriah, do you mean the rear window? If so, I would say to get the dog out. I know around here, LE has a tool that will unlock the door. Dosen't Latimer sheriff have a tool like that?

I have to agree with Oriah on #6. If the SAR groups didn't search like they said they did, the Jamisons are probably still on the mountain somewhere.
