is it coincidence that COD release and formal charges deadline are on the same day?

I think we already knew about being stabbed and blunt force trauma - in the SW of the Mom's car, they were looking for "an object that could cause blunt force trauma", and believed Justin to be "guilty of stabbing his wife to death".

I'm not quite sure why they believe they are just now releasing this info - it's been out there for a long time.

the past information was leaks to the media... this is the official coroner's statement which has not been released before today... so i DO find it interesting that the coroner's official COD is released on the same day as the charges are due in

Do you know if the prosecutor can ask for a second extension to keep him in jail while they investigate?

further thought... the extension was for 10 days... so 10 days from the 6th is really the 15th... (and not sure if they are 10 literal days or 10 business days)

  • #608
I saw that too...

I'm thinking 1:11 might be a little to literal of a translation of the deadline - maybe more like close of business on the tenth day.

  • #609
wait...

I just looked at the docket again... the date they applied for extension was 2/3... not 2/6.. so the ten days looks like it is up today...

(2/6 entry was for bond reduction which was denied)

Yes - I've seen news articles that state they have until today to charge him, or release him. It's after 4. I wonder when something will happen.

"You have to get up very close to the person," explained Kurtz, who has his PhD in Sociology, and who used to be a probation and parole officer. "I mean, you could shoot somebody from 20 feet away, but if you are stabbing someone you have to be right up close to them to do that."

There are still a lot of questions that surround Adams' murder that only those close to the investigation and the crime know for sure. Like where the pregnant mother was stabbed, and how many times.

"That will tell us something about the profile of the person who committed the crime," Kurtz said.

So far, those details are being kept under wraps.

I would also like to know where the crime scene is. Did she die where she was found, or was there blood found in the home. The investigators have certainly kept their knowledge under wraps!

Yes, they have. If her death was caused by stabbing, there must be a mountain of forensic evidence. I'm concerned that they took the absolute maximum time - down to the last hour - where they had to charge him or let him go.

Right now I'm really stinging from a case here of Michael Morton, imprisoned 25 years for the murder of his wife that he did NOT commit, and this week finally he's getting some payback with DA Ken Anderson being investigated for his role in predatory prosecution and withholding evidence that would have proven Michael innocent.

I'm just not that thrilled with the prosecutorial process. We'll see, I guess.

25 years ago, the chance of being convicted and being innocent had to be much greater, without DNA, IMO. I never trust eyewitness testimony, no matter how certain the witness is, and I imagine a lot of people have been convicted on that alone over the past two centuries or so...many were probably innocent, unfortunately. But I really think in a case like this one, forensics will be there. JMO

Justin's mother, Tina Clarke is also mentioned in the reports saying at 2 or 3 a.m. the morning of Jaymie's disappearance, Justin knocked on her door asking to borrow her car. The document also shows phone calls were exchange between Justin and his mom around that same time frame. The report notes Clarke told Justin bodies are frequently at Draper, so she took Justin to Lake Stanley Draper to look for Jaymie.

Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office deputies found Justin since had correspondence with a woman named Lisa Leaver-Pate, that indicates they have an intimate relationship. The document claims Justin Adams asked this woman to marry him and discussed having a swinging relationship. The woman reportedly initially agreed to talk with detectives, but her attorney later declined.

Court documents obtained Monday show Jaymie Adams engaged in prostitution to make ends meet. Justin Adams told police investigators during a Dec. 12 interview that his wife “hated” working as a prostitute, saying she met clients twice a week, and “when the cellphone bill and van payment were made,” she stopped until another bill was due, according to a probable cause affidavit filed Monday.

~~~
Court documents also show Adams was romantically involved with another woman. After his arrest, investigators received information from the Oklahoma County sheriff's office regarding correspondence being sent to Adams by a woman identified as LM Leaver-Pate, according to the affidavit. The correspondence indicated an intimate relationship “exists” between Leaver-Pate and Justin Adams, police reported, adding that Adams “had asked Leaver-Pate to marry him.”
During a Dec. 15 interview with Adams, detectives confronted him about the couple's cellphone records. The records showed that in the early hours of Dec. 10, their calls were operating from the same telephone towers “for every single call for the time Justin Adams was claiming he was not with Jaymie,” police reported. He called his wife's phone 11 times between 5:12 a.m. and 4:59 p.m. Dec. 10.
It is interesting that their van was repossessed after Jaymie went missing. That further bolsters the above - that Jaymie was the only one in the household providing for the family.
