Choctaw landlord accused of harassing his female tenants, seeking sex as rent

A landlord with dozens of rental properties is being accused of sexually harassing black female tenants.

Ray Pelfrey, who is white, is accused of seeking sexual favors from the tenants in place of rent and evicting those who refuse. Pelfrey, 75, of Choctaw, denies the complaints against him.

I think this happens quite frequently. I know two women who were harassed in this way.

This case has a decided resonance as Choctaw and OKC -- where now former Oklahoma City police officer Daniel Holtzclaw was found guilty of raping black women -- are about 15 miles apart.

Oh, I think landlords have been doing this for generations. It is often a matter of them having financial power over a woman, Same old, same old.
