Fourteen years of questions: Still no answers to mystery of Welch girls disappearance. (Grove Sun)
---
Ashley Freeman was legally declared dead Oct. 18, 2010, although she has never been found.

Lauria's parents, Jay and Lorene Bible of Welch, have never given up the hope of finding their daughter, who would now be 30-years-old.
Lorene Bible made this posting on Facebook this week:

"Fourteen years ago tonight at 7:30 p.m. was the last time your Dad and I heard your voice. You had been with Ashley all day celebrating her 16th birthday. It was late and Kathy asked if you could stay another night. That way we wouldn't have to drive to Welch and someone ride home with you. Who would of ever known that would be the last time we heard you say I LOVE YOU. KNOW THAT WE ARE ALWAYS SEARCHING FOR YOU AND LOOKING TO THE LORD FOR ANSWERS. LOVE AND MISS YOU ALWAYS LAURIA JAYLENE BIBLE.”

<3 I hope they find them. To who ever did this or who ever is covering it up, you can't hide what you did from God. You can't keep this secret forever. Let this family have their daughter back.

I just recently found this case on WS and have been catching up over the last two days. Being an OK native, I have always heard of the Bible and Freeman girls, but didn't know any of the details. Just a few thoughts I've had as I'm researching and catching up. I find it incredibly odd that the Freeman's were so afraid of LE's actions and "taunting" that they were looking to move out of state and that Mr. F stayed in the barn. This is a huge red flag, IMO. But on the other hand, I find it very unlikely that if LE were involved in the murder, the perp(s) would have removed intestines, left Mrs. F nude, and shot them in the face. It seems like the work of a serial killer and not someone just wanting to shut them up regarding a lawsuit. No doubt, LE botched this investigation from day 1. Turning the crime scene over to the brother so soon after the murders, letting family and outsiders trample all over the scene, placing a dozen or so guns in the yard (which one could have been the murder weapon, nothing has really been said about it) and leaving them for months, and of course, overlooking a body!!! Who does that?!?

In my mind, Lauria's car being out front of the trailer home is another situation. If it were someone close to the family, do you think that would've stalled them or invited them? If it were someone there in regards to drugs or just a random hit, they probably wouldn't have realized that's not a family member's car. As far as the conflicting info on where they ate, we don't have the info as to why LE believes it was the BBQ place in Vinita, right? There has to be a reason. In looking at the map posted very early in this thread, Pizza Hut and Bill's BBQ (or whatever it was called) were not close. At all. So, I would think it's a pretty important piece of info when considering the "could've been followed" scenario. I also think the conflicting info between the Freeman family that was there that night and the boyfriend regarding when he left is also important. So when the boyfriend left, the family member (was it Mr. F's brother?) was still there? This part is shady because it's only been mentioned a time or two that other family members were there and reported that he left an hour later than he stated. Also, not much has been said about Shane Freeman breaking into the Bibles' home. When was this? What did he take (reports have been very vague) that was Lauria's? Anyone else find this concerning?

Anyway, now I'm just babbling, but those have been my thoughts as I've been reading through this case. Hopefully this year will be the year.

Hello everyone,

I have been a lurker for several years and finally registered. This case and a few others have bothered me for years. Its unreal that it has not been solved yet. I can relate to the small town LE problems. When I lived and worked in Ky I ran into the same types. Its all over, just more prominent in some areas of the country. Any, I am still going through all the info on this, I am 80% done. One thought , I do not feel that Tommy Sells is involved in this. Gut feeling and research of done on him when I was working on my masters. I do not feel the girls did this. This is just so sad and disturbing that there has been no leads or info. Everyone of you who has keep this going are so awesome!! Bless you all!

:wagon: to Websleuths, Balor51!

Great first post and :gthanks: for joining us!

I also feel that the girls were not responsible for their disappearance and agree that it's incredibly sad and disturbing that there have been no real concrete leads that have panned out in the past 14+ years. :(

I'm always hoping that justice and answers regarding Lauria and Ashley's disappearance are just around the corner! :please:

Thank you for the welcome :)

This case is so haunting. It cries for justice. I think the answers lie in the town, someone there knows something. Maybe fear has prevented them from speaking out. But now they need to talk. These girls need to be found. The ones who keep silent will never be able to escape it.

I do think the arrowheads are a moot point. To hard to trace . I wonder if there were ever any searchs on any of the reservations? Is it possible the girls remains could have buried there? I wish we knew what the condition of the refrigerator was in after the fire, even with that kind of heat, I have seen things surrvive with little damage tthat were inside.

Offf to ponder some more

A mine shaft is basically a long vertical tunnel which provides access to the underground working surfaces of a mine. They can be very long, very deep. Shafts are supposed to be capped for safety reasons, but some either haven't been or the cap has been removed.

Most of the drug trafficking in the region happens because of easy interstate access (I-44) and because meth is easy to cook. The tri-county area that makes up the northeastern-most corner of NE OK is historically a poverty-ridden region subject to an underground economy (both literally, when the region was still mined, and now figuratively, with drug-selling and -purchase).

So a person could just be thrown down one with the reasonable expectations that death or severe harm would occur, no one would hear a survivor, and there is no reasonable expectation of escape?

Watching this on Disappeared right now.

I don't know much about them, but that's the way it sounds :(

Just watched this case on ID Disappeared this afternoon. What a baffling story!
I am in the process of reading through the thread, it's taking me quite awhile because I am not at all familiar with the case and must read and re-read to understand all these twists and turns.
I was born in OK, my family lived there until I was school-aged. I have many relatives there. Another reason my interest is piqued!
After I finish reading everything, perhaps I will have a theory IMO!

I don't remember the "removing intestines"... Has that been documented anywhere? It might be your wording.

This isn't random at all. Whoever did this knew exactly what they were doing.

You sound like you know more than your saying. Please, if you do, let someone know. These girls need to be laid to rest.

And, If you are familiar with the situation, can you explain the DeAnna Dorsey murder?

LE and drugs were involved in this... I have no doubt about it.

From this info (sorry, I'm on my tablet and haven't figured out how to quote several things). Now that I'm re-reading it, it says that intestines were exposed on Mr. F and they were spilled out from Mrs. F. My apologies, I misread it.

I wish I knew more. Someone does though, sadly. All I know is the things I have read on this site and local news. I had never even heard of Ms. Dorsey until studying this case. I too believe LE and drugs played a role in this.

I apologize for being a little too direct, and my comments.

The Deanna Dorsey incident is something that is often forgotten.
