Search Continues For 4 Missing Men In Okmulgee
Nothing new...

Okmulgee police and the District 25 violent crimes task force spent Wednesday searching a salvage yard where one of the men’s cell phone last pinged. Police said after searching the 25 acre area, they did not find anything.

Police said they’ve had several reported sightings of the men, and have been following up Thursday to see if any of the sightings are legitimate.

She said the community wide search will begin Thursday at 6 at the Walmart in Okmulgee.

Prentice noted police did not see the men on the gas station’s security footage.

...Mark’s phone powered off within its confines, ending the group’s digital trail.

Two of the other missing men’s phones have been off since Sunday. Prentice said police would be able to track their location if the phones get turned on again.

Four grown men. On bicycles. At night. Vanished.
What in the wide, wide world of sports?

With police saying the phone led them to the gas station but the men were not spotted on the gas station cameras, is it possible they were off to the side or behind the gas station, out of view of cameras, but the phone would still show being at/near the gas station?

Or the phone was there and they weren't

If they were really pulling trailers...I'm starting to be inclined to thinking they were up to something nefarious that went south on them...

Especially knowing they were going to the salvage yard. Sounds to me like they were going to collect some parts.

Weird goings on. No one had a vehicle?

So 4 men are out at dark on bicycles WITH TRAILERS going to salvage yards.

Oct 13, 2022 article . . . What? Now we see a sighting early Tuesday?? On foot?

[…]

Investigators on Wednesday gathered video and GPS evidence and followed up on potential sightings of the men — including one witness who reported seeing all four men walking down the street at 2 a.m. Tuesday.

[…]

"This evening and tomorrow we will begin the long and tedious process of sifting through the hours of video as well as the GPS data," the Okmulgee Police Department said in a Wednesday Facebook post. "Additional locations have been identified as potential sources for more video and they will be contacted tomorrow. Search warrants have been submitted for phone records and warrants for Facebook accounts will be forthcoming."

The random sightings are bizarre.

This article says they were riding bicycles "pulling trailers."

Search for 4 missing Okmulgee men continues

I've not really ever seen anyone riding a bicycle pulling a trailer before. Wouldn't that be difficult? Is this common? I'm assuming they had trailers to put stuff on that they picked up at the salvage yards? So now we are looking for not just four missing bicycles (and men, of course) but also missing trailers? The only thing I ever see people pulling behind a bicycle is a little cart or contraption to carry a small child in MOO.

This is really a bizarre case. What are the chances four grown men go missing? Since the last known location of the cell phone data was at the second salvage yard, I wonder if they were there to either steal something and got caught or just there when they should not have been, and the property owner caught them and did something to them. It would have been night time and not that difficult to get rid of four bikes (and I guess now trailers too) if you had a pick up truck. MOO
My guess is that the "trailer" is more like the little cart that you described. There is a man that rides his bike around my town with a modified shopping cart operating as a pull-behind trailer. I'm picturing something like that. From what I've read I believe only one of the bicycles was pulling a trailer, as well.

It almost sounds like "voluntarily missing". With no outright signs of missing by kidnapping, trafficking, or other unlawful means, I'm wondering why police are combing through tons of surveillance tapes.
Edited to "erase phone left at gas station."
(Police followed a digital trail via a cell phone to the gas station)

(Except, the phone left at the gas station....should be some video on that.)
What phone left at the gas station? I haven't heard about that.

Link, please.
I have followed since the first post and have not read or heard anywhere of a phone left at a gas station.

Sorry, I edited my response to show it was just a digital trail, not the phone itself. Sorry for the confusion.

Same...between this one and the Debbie Collier case I'm all kind of discombobulated with what's happening in the world right now!

Did they all sneak away for a secret vacation/rendezvous perhaps?

Just thinking of ideas …

I think I've read everything on the thread -but I don't recall seeing what these fellows do for a living. Has anyone seen it?
