The hole by the fence is an animal den. Coyote, fox, etc. The burned areas, I think I read that over a thoisands acres were set on fire shortly after the crash or before the big search. Probably a deliberate attempt to destroy evidence. Seems to have worked somewhat. This weekend starts rifle season so hopefully someone will come across something.

One thing I have not seen anyone discuss and that CH reportedly was coughing up blood... maybe he breaks an ankle fleeing during the night but it is improbable that the same fall gave him internal injuries. Again, I think he was injured in the wreck and his death probably occurred within a few hundred yards. What would give him internal injuries? A steering wheel definitely would. The only other scenario for him breaking his ankle and internal injuries, is falling from a small cliff. IMO. What does coughing up blood indicate? Broken ribs and ??? Not sure.

I hope that both are doing well but I do not see how, with the time that has passed, CH is alive. He would have had to have immediate medical attention. Is this maybe the "news" that was explained to the family that made them think he is deceased? Two very significant injuries and lost in the woods. MM, what info could they have to make them think she is deceased? Of the two MM has the greatest probability of being alive, being held somewhere. Sorry to be negative but if she is on a road, she will be found close to the road unless foul play.

  • #704
Yeah, I wish I had more hope than I do that they can be found alive. The best hope would be runaways, but the time passed with no word is not sounding good at all.

I do hope hunting season coming up this Saturday (23rd) finds a critical clue to get some answers. It seems like that is the best hope unless LE has something more that they are working towards.

Well, what do you think of the internal injury? Is it possible he was driving and CN is in the clear on that issue? Could CH have had an inordinate amount of drugs on him and got skiddish when he saw the cops?

  • #706
Has everyone or anyone actually looked at all of the dynamics of this case? It is unbelievable.

Anything is possible which is what makes this case so difficult. Since the car was CN girlfriends, not sure if CN would let anyone drive it.

Since she first reported it stolen, it kind of makes you wonder how they got ahold of the car to begin with. Like maybe the GF was with all of them at first, and maybe they dropped her off for some reason and while they were waiting on her, maybe a police cruiser tried to pull them over and they took off.

I have always thought the initial car doing donuts was not them doing it on purpose, but them trying to evade an officer and they kind of spun out as they were trying to get away. Just a guess though.

I cant help but think the relationship between CN and the sheriff had a lot to do with why this case has not been solved.

Now that other LE is looking into it, I have hopes it can still be solved.

Broken rib makes sense. Some people thought he may have been high (no confirmation of this), so he could have bit his tongue or his tooth broke some skin by the airbag (providing he was in the front seat) or hit his mouth on the seat in front of him (if he was in back seat).

Possibly, but remember he was on probation. I don't think he wanted contact with police in any situation, especially after a police chase. He could do all the jail time from his last conviction. I think they are pretty strict about things, while someone is on probation. In a sense, they gave him a break on his first conviction, this time they may just make him do the time for just being associated with that car chase.

It's gone awfully quiet around here. While waiting for new developments, I've been back to the photos on OFMM, studying a few that intrigue me for one reason or another.

The hole for one, of course. PMF said in the radio interview that the OSBI agent shooed her away after he arrived on the scene, which leads me to believe the photo of it was taken while she was waiting for him to get there. My photo software will lighten shadows but I didn't want to see anything human down there, so it was kinda scary to try it. Thankfully, there's nothing like that visible at the bottom of the hole, just ashes and some bent, blackened wires or twigs, although surely if they were twigs they'd also be ashes. Still, it doesn't seem right to post that version of the photo here, just in case.

There was only one photo of a fence and, as I said before, I don't know if it's the one the car went through. I brightened the exposure to get a better look at the details. There are three strands of barbed wire attached to a fencepost and another fencepost lying on the ground at the upper right corner of the pic. The bent-up gate-looking thing does not appear to actually be a gate. The bars seems to be welded to the fencepost, so I don't know what's going on there. Also, the ground around it has been burned. That black shape in the middle is too small to be The Hole and, looking at the edges of the shape, it looks more like a burned thing than a hole. No idea what kind of thing it might have been:

More burned ground. Just guessing this is in the vicinity of, if not adjacent to, the fence above. Looks like a pond behind the trees. Moxley Lake? Another black shape behind the branches in the foreground, crumpled corrugated metal panels, and unburned branches on top of the ashes. What does it all mean?

Moxley Lake is not labeled by name on Google Maps or Google Earth or Bing Maps and I couldn't find any definitive info about it by googling, but it seems like it would probably be the largest body of water in the area. You can see here there are two large ponds:

But switching over to satellite view, it turns out the larger one to the left is a swamp filled with vegetation, and the photos on OFMM show a large expanse of open water. So I think the one on the right is probably Moxley Lake, the one that was searched with sonar and presumably the location of the mysterious footprints. Here it is in relation to the area I suspect was the center of activity that night (the plain blue balloons mark other, smaller ponds):

And that's all I've got for now.

In the middle picture, is the light colored soil ash or sand? I saw it on the other images on facebook.

There is something strange about that colored area. It almost looks like fire retardant was sprayed all around or maybe lime or something.

If it was just ashes, then the first rain would wash most of the color out and make it darker. It just looks really strange.

The more I looked into it the more I agree with you. He would have ran far and fast. That conviction was in 2010. Read these two links

Interesting side note, the girl in the first story, her dad died within a month of CH and MM going missing. I think they are still waiting for cause of death but supposedly it was murder and ties into this case.

His license was suspended, if he was driving, he was dang sure not gonna get caught. One of those links also show he liked to drive fast.

Totally agree. Thanks for the links. That puts it plainly clear that he would have definitely hid from LE no matter what. Serious Injury or not, he was not going to get caught. I hope he didnt inadvertently end up getting them both lost and dying of exposure due to him trying to elude capture.

That is also interesting about the death of the other person a month later.

If drugs are involved with a murder, there is only 3 things that I can think of:
-a person steals drugs and someone else is pissed enough to kill them over it
-a person kills someone else to steal their drugs
-a person owes a ton of money when fronted drugs and they cant repay.

Meth is one of the most vicious drugs lately to emerge. It seems there are a lot of bad things that happen with that particular drug.

Wonder how or why that other case was dropped....sounds like they had them red handed. Wonder if CN and CH were a lot closer than anyone knew? Enough that CN cousin (the police) would help CH out? That sounds far fetched I know but I have read several things the past couple of weeks that make this sound plausible. If CN was involved, someone had to help him and "show him the ropes". I think the hole burning is a big Red Herring. It doesn't take 2 weeks for a body to burn to ashes. Any reasonable person would have covered that hole up as soon as possible and the hole is too small.
I know everyone wants their case to be spotlighted but my gosh, this one really needs it. Major media attention on this would expose a huge collusion between cops and criminals....IMO

The dad was not murdered, just a reckless allegation thrown around.

I read up on this yesterday ago and read there wasn't a definitive answer yet. Then again, you know the people site i read it at and I seriously doubt their commitment to responsible journalism. Put that aside, the Jordan Buckalew murder case is another mystery down there that seems to be connected to the same family. I believe Windstorm posted it on here. For small towns they seem to have an exceptionally high crime rate.

bolded by me

Wow! Do you suppose someone murdered him because he snitched on a meth dealer? Maybe it was a payback?

If the justice system had worked just once in the last 4 or 5 encounters these guys had, CH would probabky still be around or at least not be missing.
