Identified! OK - Osage Co., Skull Found Near Tulsa, May'07 - April Washington

  • #21
I believe she's been identified (see my post #16 showing the victim) :)

This is the same lady... we were just debating the skills of the reconstruction artist.

See post #10 for the link and news story.

I am glad an ID was made. But I just have to weigh in on the reconstruction. It is horrific. I can see why the artist needed to show the teeth as this feature was most likely what caught the family's attention. But Good Lord - it is just frightening.

I agree... I wonder why the artist felt it necessary to show the victim with such a horrified/horrific expression on her face. In actuality, her face and eyes are very soft and pleasant, IMO.

I do have a question though... referencing the picture of the victim below... what are the black lines that start from the outside edges of her eyes and continue (on the same plane as the lower eyelid) for approximately a half inch? Is that some sort of eyeliner for effect?

Yes, Bud. It is dramatic flair with eyeliner. ;) I think it shows her personality a bit. RIP April Washington.

(The reconstruction wasn't great, but I do see he got the nose shape close (April's is much smaller). The lips are thick and he got that right. The eyes aren't too bad, but April's have more of an almond shape.

He messed up severely on the eyebrows, the overall shape of the face, and the age of the face. (The hair is hideous, too!) The expression he put on her really was horrific. For Shame!

Quite fortunate to get a match and reunit this lady with her family. RIP, April.
