Is it normal in cases like this that basic information is just missing? For example: What is live in ex's name? Who has the son now? And, what directly are investigators leaning? I only ask because, it seems-as an outsider who checks the facebook page daily, that the consensus on the page is "she did not run away." There was a post made recently to her son that made it seem that 1. someone is telling son that she ran away, and 2. Grandma is not allowed contact with the boy. Is is possible that mom disappears, dad picks boy up at school, and when mom doesn't come home he tells him she left them and wont be back? Does the poor boy even know people are looking for her? My son is 7, and if I am even late coming home, I hear about it; I can't imagine the boy knowing she is missing or that anything could possibly be wrong and him not pushing the dad to go look for her-and it seems dad is doing nothing. I have never seen a high profile case where there wasn't some sort of address to the press from law enforcement, and this case is a big deal for this area, yet not once have I seen LE ask for help or provide any information. Grandma has also said on FB many times, in response to posts "I can't say" or something to that effect. I get that LE has asked for her cooperation and that giving certain info could jeopardize the case, but if my child were missing and her EX were keeping me from my grandchild and may have been the last one to see her alive-I am telling everyone's secrets to as many people as I can to find my kid. What is the worse thing that could happen? They arrest her? That would at least get the case more attention. This case frustrates me daily and I can't imagine what the family is dealing with. I just pray that sweet boy is able to get through this and not be completely damaged.

I have seen this in a few cases and it makes this case very difficult. The family is trying to extend the reach, but it is hard when the missing information is just so obvious. The Nancy Grace interview is the biggest example as the interviewee was trying to protect the case, but at the same time frustrated the case's followers with inaccurate and misleading information.

If you see enough of these cases, you can get a sense of potential people involved or suspected. It probably varies based on location, but the ones I have seen in Oklahoma, family and media sources do not publicly disclose or talk about identities that are very closely tied to the case. In the Samantha Weaver case, the family and police knew who the last person to see her was, but he was not mentioned nor hinted about until he was named a suspect 2 years later. Most of us had the 'well duh' feeling after learning of all the details, but for whatever reason LE doesn't want anyone talking about potential suspects until they are officially named a 'suspect'.

My own opinion, if the child's father was 100% innocent, we would have seen him on a media source at some point.

If the dad were a suspect would LE let him continue custody? That is if he even has the child, I have not seen where they mention that either, only that grandma does not. She has taken to FB today asking that no one even mention the sons name per request of the family.

This tells me the LE are vigorously working behind the scenes, or, possibly a grand jury could be in session? I'm hopeful.

It happens. Drew Peterson killed 2 wives. He retained custody of the children from both marriages.

Of course, now he is in prison for pretty much life. (An adult son now has the 2 children from wife #4)

If dad were named a suspect, many things would change with the investigation and possibly with present arrangements. That is part of the reason they don't name suspects sometimes up until the actual arrest.

I find it odd they ask her son's name and face not be mentioned, but they have recent posts on their own page using both. They can't have it both ways and should take down any mention if they don't want others to use it. Can't unring that bell, however. Once it is out there...it is out there.

I did note someone mentioned he had to change schools and give up visits with his grands which I find quite disturbing. A child who has gone through such an abrupt loss of his mother then has to give up his loving grandparents, his caring teachers, and his friends is simply unfathomable! This child will be scarred for life and there is nothing that can ever fix it. Bless his heart.

For someone to call themselves a parent and treat their child this way is beyond the pale. The other grandparents should stand up for the grandchild and make this right before it goes any further. Protecting their own son should never come before the grandson who lost his mother. They have a duty to their grandson. They should realize it is up to them to save him from his nightmare and not create more of a situation which will only destroy him. Their son is an adult and can stand up for himself right or wrong. Peggy's son is a young child who had his whole world ripped from underneath his feet in one fell swoop.

I live about 40 miles west of this town and find am following the FB page as well. What I find odd-in addition to the complete lack of information coming from ANYONE-is that there seems to be no mention of the biggest thing in Eufaula-the lake. It is one of the biggest in Oklahoma, its deep, its merky, and its way above level right now. I saw on my personal page that there were divers out looking for her, but I don't know to what extent. Eufaula is also right on I-40, which is a major sex trafficking hub...I hope they find her soon or at least have someone they can prove is responsible. Promise me this fellow websleuths, should I turn up missing out of Eufaula-CHECK THAT LAKE!! Cody and Ben were found in the water after levels went down, but it took a while and they were still in their van. We have had record flood levels this year, there is no telling what is hiding in that lake. Just a thought, hopefully investigators have taken appropriate measures where it is concerned.

It seems slow and quiet. I've checked the news and the facebook page. Nothing new. Any locals hearing anything on the media?

On the facebook page, the admin released a photo[1] that states "Peggy was last seen at her home in Stidham, OK".

Who last saw her at her home? Although it is obvious to most of us, law enforcement and people close to the case know who last saw her, but they won't say. In 3 years, when a charge gets filled, most of us here will think "well duh...", but until then, we are forced to play stupid.

This isn't a case that is going to be solved overnight. The murderer is smart and he or she knows how to cover his or her tracks. They aren't going to find her remains just due to hunting season or snow melting. They need a confession and I have a feeling a confession won't come freely.

More than likely not related to Peggy, but this happened today in Eufaula. I wasn't sure where to post it so I also posted it in a breaking news thread. There was a woman involved (shot), but they're not sure if she was a participant or a hostage.

No news on this since reward was increased. Anyone local hearing anything? It's probably too soon to hear the results on the items LE seized during the searches.

There was a legal notice posted to the bph Facebook page by epl, about 2 hours ago that is breaking my heart. It's a pic of a newspaper. A brief summary is the child's father is suing Peggy for custody and child support...

Why sue Peggy??!? Who has custody now? Grandparents? Is it because the grandparents want custody and Peggy is still considered alive according to the law? Timing couldn't be worse. Time, effort and money needs to be on finding her.
