JK, have you talked to your cousin who thought he saw him? What does he remember? I assume your aunt is no longer with us.

Cousin has also passed away.

If a comparison of DNA was made between Ronald Tammen and the 1953 Georgia John Doe, then there must be some sort of record of that Unidentified man's DNA on file. What laboratory did the comparison?

13th May 2024 Another source of events on the disappearance of Phillip Micknal...

Another point, I might add, if he sold his vehicle April 9, 1952, (according to the above newspaper account posted here on WS's earlier) and then left his car in NW Oklahoma May 1, 1953 and was seen hitchhiking by a family who knew him and who said they saw him on the road hitchhiking somewhere between Norman and Pauls Valley to Dallas, then that would mean he bought another vehicle. I would assume that vehicle broke down which is why he was hitchhiking. I assume he was seen hitchhiking on Route 77 since I-35 from Norman to Dallas wasn't constructed until the late 1950's.

And, IMO, since he was last seen hitchhiking May 1, 1953 and the body in Georgia was found partially decomposed about June 5, 1953, I doubt it was Micknal. The newspaper article about the body found in Georgia stated it was found three weeks before the newspaper article, which would be about June 5.

Also, the body found was 5 ' 8" tall with black hair and Micknal's draft card stated he was 5' 10.5" tall with brown hair. The fact he was hitchhiking and had no vehicle makes it even more unlikely it was him.

The Florida taxi seen near the dirt road about the time the murdered man was found also raises a lot of questions. The Florida/Georgia state line is 347 miles away from Lafayette, GA and about a 5.5 hour drive.

The clincher, to me anyways, was that Micknal was in the Army from 1942 to 1944. The body was found June 1953 wearing an Army T-shirt and shorts. I doubt he was still wearing Army-issue undergarments 9 years later.
