Yeah, unfortunately, that short an article, there's just no way of knowing what publication or when. There's not even a journalist listed. Something like the LA Times, maybe? But it could be a smaller publication, a great many local papers have been eaten up by larger ones or simply went out of print in the last forty plus years.

The following day, the Los Angeles Times reports that the body of Thomas J. Burns, Jr., age 28, of San Diego was found at the bottom of a 300-foot cliff on San Clemente Island. It doesn't mention a gunshot wound, but it does say he was hunting goats. If they were two different bodies located at the same place within a day of each other I would think they would mention that, so this is likely the body referred to in the above article.

Details of Disappearance
