Oh, thank you, that is something I simply never considered. It isn't something that ever thought of respectless but I follow your line of thinking now and apologize. It wasn't my intention to make it seem I wasn't interested. I'm neurodivergent and have a hard time reading through long threads, so I sometimes start searching instead of getting the full background.

way back in 22nd February 2023 when Stephen Murphy
was on strength of 'Headquarters & Services Company,
1st Battalion, 5th Marines, 1st Marine Division, Camp
Pendelton, CA' and his Commanding Officer was noted
as 'R.E. Lee' - that Marine Officer appears to have
progressed up the promotions chain in following years,
there is a [LtCol] Lieutenant Colonel R.E. Lee Jr
findable in this document in 1993 transfered to a
different unit;

in 1996, that officer had apparently been promoted
to [Col] Colonel "Robert E. Lee"..."the commanding

previously, Immokalee Jane Doe NamUs UP367, and
noticing that you have contacted NAMUS/LE in cases
in the past, am wondering if you might like to contact
them about NamUs UP367 if you judge the possibility
is reasonable and hasn't been submitted ever previously.

I was just wanting to let you know that I can see it so it's reaching people and I hope that the members in that group are able to dig up some other avenues in searching for the answers. I'm sorry if I wasn't as clear. I'd never want you to feel confused.

From my understanding as a follower of this thread since day one, @megs1288 has been so gracious to volunteer @Snoangel26 her help with bringing awareness to her search for answer's and the two are working together to get a video with the VIP details to share on other internet sites. However, I understand the question didn't ask anyone else to respond but I feel like I can assist you with an abbreviated response for what it's worth.
I have come across at least one fb page where the details were carried over to involve more views and reach a larger audience. MOO

Hello everyone. I’ve just binged the entire thread and the hard work put in by all the members is awesome, and the perseverance of @Snoangel26 is so admirable.

Have you considered the possibility that he is gay and wanted to start over and pursue that lifestyle? I was just brainstorming reasons why, in the 70s, people became estranged from their families. Obviously there are a million of them, so this is kind of arbitrary, but it was the only one that came to mind that could give new paths to search. The LGBTQ+ has a strong community and I’m sure there are lots of groups (like on FB) where you could look. Kind of grasping at straws though, I suppose.
I believe he is alive somewhere, but that’s just a gut feeling.

Would the detective on his MP case have searched for activity on his SSN?

It is a possibility. And one I think I should look into. Thank you for bringing that to my attention. According to the detective there is no activity with his name. And running his fingerprints there was no activity either. Thank you for your suggestion. I truly appreciate it.

Very good idea! My Mom's eldest sibling was born in 1948 and you're correct the 70's weren't an easy time for people who weren't gender certain. I grew up with my Aunt Rose and now she's just Ross to us all. Thank you for sharing your post.

No offense and jmo, I find it a tiny bit disrespectful to suggest snoangel take her search somewhere else after all the work some members have done here, and the info that's been found.

Also, I know someone who was kicked out of that group for unknown reason after she'd asked for help looking for someone, and she now can't access the replies or any new info that may come up.

I also was kicked out of that group for no known reason. I made one post asking for info about someone. As per their rules, no info was posted except full name ( and maybe birthdate, I don’t recall). Got two replies and then bam, kicked out and blocked. I have no idea why. I never made any other posts or comments. IMO

Update: I emailed the detective for any updates. According to him as of August 16,2023 the DNA reference sample I provided was sent off for testing and could take approximately 120 days. After testing the profile will be entered into CODIS.
