Hi all,

I just wanted to throw my 2 cents out here. I don't wish to insult anyone who feels that the "Jamie" tattoo is a huge clue/lead. But I have a different opinion.

The tattoo looks unevenly faded (some letters still clear, others almost invisible). And this made me think that this is actually a home-made tattoo. I had friends some years ago who busted an ink pen and used a regular needle to do their own tattoo's and that is what I was instantly reminded of when I saw the picture.

The reason I feel that theory is of significance, is because I worry that this tattoo may not be something that the victim's family was aware of.

I pray that this victim's name is found soon and that she receives justice.

Good point. Just wishful thinking. Hers is definitely one of the best sketches I've ever seen. I just can't believe we can't find her! Just trying to look at every possibility.

I think Toni looks like a good match also. The height is a problem.... can you mix up 5'5" and 5'11"? I suppose so. The eyebrows, nose and mouth all seem to line up. I think it is worth calling in...

I came back in here after a month or so (my apologies- I sort of forgot about this thread). I looked again at the 'tattoo' of Jamie and I'm wondering if it could possibly say something else like Janice or another closely related name (in curvature).

Has anyone reported Toni at all? If not I can revisit her info and send it in.

also, Jamie could be the name of her boyfriend at the time...not necc. her name.

Crime: Girl thought to be runaway may have been sold to pimp in Ardmore, according to police

For months she was just a Jane Doe who appeared to be a victim of homicide. On Monday, she was identified as 17-year-old Tesla Donn Applegate from Dewar. Officials said she died June 26 of blunt force trauma to the head.

Applegate was initially thought to have been hit by a car because she was found lying in the middle of the road at SE Grand Boulevard and Lindsey about 1 a.m. June 21. She was put on life-support as officers tried to determine her identity.

Several times police asked for help from the public in identifying Applegate, but had little success. Then recently police got a tip that Applegate may have stayed at an Oklahoma City motel. They were able obtain a name, which led them to a family member in Dewar who had previously filed a runaway report in Oklahoma City about Applegate.

When the a young woman was found in a South Oklahoma City street in June, and died soon after inside a hospital, police were unable to immediately establish her identity. Composite drawings were released, but to no avail.

But investigators gathered leads into her identity, talking with employees at a city motel where she'd apparently been staying. Now police say the State Medical Examiner has positively identified the woman as 17 year old Tessla Applegate. The girl was a resident of Dewar in northeastern Oklahoma, who hadn't been reported missing until recently.

Tesla Donn Applegate, 17, died from blunt trauma to the head a week after being found near Southeast Grand and Lindsay avenues.

Police were able to tie some information they found in Applegate's clothes to a nearby hotel, and their efforts were then connected to a missing person's report from Dewar, a town to the east of Henryetta in Okmulgee County.

Tanna Lay used to babysit Applegate years ago.

"She was a sweet kid. Very happy, always wanting to please everybody, always laughing, just fun to be around," said Lay.

A memorial service was held for Applegate in Henryetta. She was buried in Southern Oklahoma between her great grandparents.

Tesla Applegate's mom says she loved music and dancing, and had a funny personality. She says she's confident someone knows what happened to her daughter.
