Suspect was released from prison on 12/2/13 having served time for various offenses including sexual battery.

Police identified Michael Slatton, 33, as the person of interest. Investigators from the Sapulpa Police Department attempted to contact him around 1:15 Monday morning and he took off in a silver Ford Focus.

He was taken into custody about an hour later.

Slatton is a registered sex offender in Oklahoma. According to Department of Corrections records, he was incarcerated until December of last year.

No charges being reported by MSM so far, so I checked ODCR and there's nothing listed yet. Probably should hear something later today.

LE was alerted to the POI because he passed out in his car at the Whataburger drive-thru, so maybe he was too messed up to carry out his intentions. That would indeed be a second miracle for this precious child.
