Found Deceased Olivia 5, Evelyn 8 & Paityn Decker 9, Endangered Alert, visitation w/ homeless dad Travis Decker 32, wh 2017 GMC Sierra PU, Wenatchee, 30 May 2025

"[Chelan County Sheriff] Morrison said the investigation has included processing social media tips across the country, conducting interviews, and analyzing Decker’s financial records and electronic devices."

He also mentioned they're using cadaver dogs and electronic forensics, and partnering with FBI, the U.S. Marshals Service, Homeland Security Investigations, Border Patrol’s tracking team, and local police departments.

While there was still an active search, someone posted a picture of the dog on the FB group site that was started by the family. Shortly after it was posted, a local person posted a picture of a dog that had been found off Icicle Rd. Someone had posted a picture of the found dog on a local site, looking for the owner. It was obviously the same dog; the markings were identical.

I'll post the link to the family group, but they have removed most of the earlier posts, so the pictures of the dog are no longer there.

The mom's aunt, who is one of admins, said that the mom would love to read about reasons why people loved the girls, and she would love to read happy stories and memories about them. Posts on any other topic are being removed.

found alive?

I felt like I was hearing a military commander speaking. His confidence was comforting.
Oh yeah, agreed. It wasn't an amusing toast master performance. Just what is needed to show this is serious, no nonsense. I appreciated the various LE and professionals in the Hackman deaths, too. It's not easy to stand up there and hit the right tone.

JMO... I think he will be located deceased out in the woods somewhere around the campground where the girls were found. I do not think he will be captured alive. Again, JMO.
How far can he go without a vehicle? He has hitchiked before ( heard that on hidden true crime tonight) so that may have gotten him a little ways the first day or so.
Wonder what his plan was when he left that vehicle there, I suppose he could have used it for another day or so, but he didnt.

Personally , I don't think he's alive any more. I don't know what his plan could have been, but, leaving the truck gave him more time to get a head start on walking to do himself in. The truck would have been easier to spot on the roads . With all he is accused of doing , he had to be crazed out of his mind . All I know myself at this point, is that he's very evil .

MOO If he is trying to evade he hiked many ridges over.

Too cowardly to kill himself as he should have done when he first felt the motivation to kill his daughters come into his head.

Symptoms of borderline personality disorder (BPD)

The symptoms of BPD can be grouped into 4 main areas:

  • emotional instability – the psychological term for this is affective dysregulation
  • disturbed patterns of thinking or perception – cognitive distortions or perceptual distortions
  • impulsive behaviour
  • intense but unstable relationships with others
The symptoms of a personality disorder may range from mild to severe and usually emerge in adolescence, persisting into adulthood.

I keeping thinking about Eric Rudolph, the abortion clinic bomber, who was a fugitive for five years. He hid in the Appalachian Mountains and was caught by a rookie policeman as Rudolph was digging through a dumpster @ a grocery store. The award for information leading directly to his arrest was one million dollars.
I thought of him also. Difference is he had anti abortion supporters helping him along the way in Western NC. No one is going to support a child killer, however he tries to manipulate it.

Some thoughts I have after listening to the press conference. If he had planned this out well beforehand and he didn't intend to kill himself, then I wonder if he went ahead to prepare a place for himself to go afterwards? If he's known to go off the grid for up to 2 months at a time, then surely there would be some level of planning for that here also if that was his intent. Bank records to see what he was purchasing in the weeks leading up to this might show if he was buying food or other items needed to go "off grid" Maybe if they have his phone/s then they can gather possible location data from the past year to see if he was focusing on any certain areas. I don't think he could survive long without pre planning for food. He surely would need to start a fire somewhere in order to cook food and purify water and so on. Did he have any weapons that he could use for hunting food? Hearing the guy say he has been known to cache items.. he would need to have placed those items before somewhere and known he could get to them on foot.

I think the person giving the press conference was confident and I love how he said most of the county is not accessible by roads and they are used to dealing with things like this in the rugged terrain.

<modsnip: Quoted post was removed> ... The wife referred to his BPD and narcissism to the court. BOTH those terms are loosely thrown around these days (just watch TikTok, everyone's EX has this). People can show signs, and trust me, depending on who is scrutinizing us, and believe we have traits of these disorders. Related situational stressors can manifest similar symptoms. Diagnosis can take decades as well.

Again, if these were his true diagnoses, he would NOT be active with any branch of military, Yeah, he ghosted the National Guard, but he was still active.

That's actually quite dismissive of BPD imo. Yes it can cause emotional instability and impulsivity, but non of that is within the suffers control.

Everyone, you and I, can show traits and symptoms that could appear to be BPD at any given time depending on who is labeling us.

<modsnip: Quoted post was removed>... Generalized stigma and blanket statements about who should be offered what rights is greatly harmful to society as a whole. As humans, I understand we like to label and categorize people to make sense of senseless situations. Not everyone who has depression, anxiety, symptoms that look like BPD, traits that look like narcissism are inherently evil, less than, or should have less rights.

Chelan, Wenatchee, Leavenworth, and even some of the small surrounding towns are all vacation destinations in the summer. The population of Chelan is 4000 in the winter and swells to 25,000 or more in the summer, Leavenworth has 2600 permanent residents but 3 million people visit every summer. Schools get out in western WA in the next couple of weeks and tons of tourists will be descending on Chelan County very soon if they haven't already.

Some of the hiking trails are so popular you have to enter a lottery months in advance, sometimes you can't find a campground without applying weeks in advance. The whole area is going to be teeming with people on the trails and there will be far less places for this guy to hide.

The court documents state that Whitney Decker believed her ex-husband, who was known to be homeless and stayed in local hotels, motels and campgrounds, was "experiencing some mental health issues."

The documents also state that Whitney Decker said her ex-husband had been "diagnosed with borderline personality disorder" toward the end of their marriage, and that "she believes he currently does not take medications" for the condition.
Probable Cause of Death Revealed for 3 Sisters Who Didn't Return After Visitation With Their Dad

She said it in court docs per this article. when looking at the divorce case docket, I did note at least one entry regarding medical records being submitted. If I remember rightly that entry was just prior to the September 2024 motion for modified parenting plan. I wonder if she (through her attorneys) subpoena'd TD's med recs to support her claim about his diagnosis.

popped into this thread straight away hoping for updates that TD has been found, or leads developed as to where he may be. Disappointing to find none.

The "found deceased" label on the title of this post (indicating the girls were found deceased) keeps catching me off guard and makes me think TD has been found deceased. Alas, not yet, but hopefully soon.

His truck was his lifeline, it really is all he has. I am tossed about him abandoning it so close to where he left the girls. Had he not done that they may have not been discovered for sometime. We don't know (or I may have missed it) if they were concealed and covered when they were found. He left multiple phones, wallet, his dog, personal items, etc. He's either set up a cunning escape plan or he's killed himself. I'm still leaning towards suicide. I hope he's found soon. I don't like that he's been known to live off of the grid for a couple of months, this does make me second guess the suicide.
