Oh yeah, agreed. It wasn't an amusing toast master performance. Just what is needed to show this is serious, no nonsense. I appreciated the various LE and professionals in the Hackman deaths, too. It's not easy to stand up there and hit the right tone.

How far can he go without a vehicle? He has hitchiked before ( heard that on hidden true crime tonight) so that may have gotten him a little ways the first day or so.
Wonder what his plan was when he left that vehicle there, I suppose he could have used it for another day or so, but he didnt.

Personally , I don't think he's alive any more. I don't know what his plan could have been, but, leaving the truck gave him more time to get a head start on walking to do himself in. The truck would have been easier to spot on the roads . With all he is accused of doing , he had to be crazed out of his mind . All I know myself at this point, is that he's very evil .

I keeping thinking about Eric Rudolph, the abortion clinic bomber, who was a fugitive for five years. He hid in the Appalachian Mountains and was caught by a rookie policeman as Rudolph was digging through a dumpster @ a grocery store. The award for information leading directly to his arrest was one million dollars.

I thought of him also. Difference is he had anti abortion supporters helping him along the way in Western NC. No one is going to support a child killer, however he tries to manipulate it.

Some thoughts I have after listening to the press conference. If he had planned this out well beforehand and he didn't intend to kill himself, then I wonder if he went ahead to prepare a place for himself to go afterwards? If he's known to go off the grid for up to 2 months at a time, then surely there would be some level of planning for that here also if that was his intent. Bank records to see what he was purchasing in the weeks leading up to this might show if he was buying food or other items needed to go "off grid" Maybe if they have his phone/s then they can gather possible location data from the past year to see if he was focusing on any certain areas. I don't think he could survive long without pre planning for food. He surely would need to start a fire somewhere in order to cook food and purify water and so on. Did he have any weapons that he could use for hunting food? Hearing the guy say he has been known to cache items.. he would need to have placed those items before somewhere and known he could get to them on foot.

I think the person giving the press conference was confident and I love how he said most of the county is not accessible by roads and they are used to dealing with things like this in the rugged terrain.

Diagnosis can take decades as well.

Again, if these were his true diagnoses, he would NOT be active with any branch of military, Yeah, he ghosted the National Guard, but he was still active.

Everyone, you and I, can show traits and symptoms that could appear to be BPD at any given time depending on who is labeling us.

Chelan, Wenatchee, Leavenworth, and even some of the small surrounding towns are all vacation destinations in the summer. The population of Chelan is 4000 in the winter and swells to 25,000 or more in the summer, Leavenworth has 2600 permanent residents but 3 million people visit every summer. Schools get out in western WA in the next couple of weeks and tons of tourists will be descending on Chelan County very soon if they haven't already.

Some of the hiking trails are so popular you have to enter a lottery months in advance, sometimes you can't find a campground without applying weeks in advance. The whole area is going to be teeming with people on the trails and there will be far less places for this guy to hide.

The documents also state that Whitney Decker said her ex-husband had been "diagnosed with borderline personality disorder" toward the end of their marriage, and that "she believes he currently does not take medications" for the condition.

The "found deceased" label on the title of this post (indicating the girls were found deceased) keeps catching me off guard and makes me think TD has been found deceased. Alas, not yet, but hopefully soon.

His truck was his lifeline, it really is all he has. I am tossed about him abandoning it so close to where he left the girls. Had he not done that they may have not been discovered for sometime. We don't know (or I may have missed it) if they were concealed and covered when they were found. He left multiple phones, wallet, his dog, personal items, etc. He's either set up a cunning escape plan or he's killed himself. I'm still leaning towards suicide. I hope he's found soon. I don't like that he's been known to live off of the grid for a couple of months, this does make me second guess the suicide.

I read the girls were located a short distance from the truck and evidence of a camp site, down an embankment.

On June 2, a Chelan County deputy found an unoccupied truck at about 3:45 p.m. near the Rock Island Campground. Officers found the bodies of the missing girls soon after, about 75 to 100 yards past the vehicle, down a small embankment, according to a probable cause affidavit.

other articles have stated a trail of plastic bags and zip ties lead LEOs from the truck found area to the girls found area, so I don't think he was too worried about concealment, at least not for the long term. Maybe enough to make them not immediately visible from the road, but sounds like they were visible to naked eye if standing at top of the embankment.

The article above also says this guy is super familiar with the area and often goes off grid for several months at a time out there. No way of knowing if his previous off grid excursions to the area were about scouting hiding spots or caching supplies for an eventual run after these murders. In other words, we really have no clue how long this man planned this.

The fact that he killed his children, left his truck, supplies, food, phone, wallet & dog, tells me he's also killed himself as well. The bloody hand prints throw a weird angle in but I do think they'll find him deceased.
