Wow! That is super scary for people who live in the area. This guy is obviously crazy, and has nothing to lose. I hope he is found soon.
I think those numbers came from him, not a measuring tape or scale. I've known lots of younger guys over 5'10" very fit at 175. Yes he looks much lighter than 190. I envisioned a fire plug when I first heard his stats, given that most guys add a couple of inches. Famous Hawks QB maybe included.you think he looks lighter? but he is solid, muscle weighs more doesnt it?
The army ranger school was quite a while ago. He was in the army after that and served in Afghanistan. This was reported by a squad mate he was with in the army. When I travel eastward of Seattle on Fridays or Saturdays (can't remember which), I often note convoys of Humvee's and other army equipment on trailers headed east on I-90 toward some kind of training area east of the Cascades. Then, late Sunday evening the same headed west on I-90 (presumably headed back to Fort Lewis).
Some of the recent search activity indicates Decker may be traveling south of Leavenworth.
Since the murder of the three daughters may possibly have been a vindictive act against the mother, could Decker possibly be headed toward that training area to engage in some kind of vindictive act against those training at the area? The latest mental health crisis seems like it was tipped off by his removal from Army Ranger school.
Maybe that training facility has nothing to do with the program he was in, but if it did, this is a worrying consideration.
I waffle on this as well. Perhaps, not a psychotic break or episode... have to wonder if this was a build up and ongoing over time. Or he's going in and out of trauma/soldier/survival mode.I tend to believe he did not have a psychotic break. In my experience those people are heavily disorganized. If he is alive, he is off radar utilizing his skills and it is working. I don't tie that to a psychotic break.
Jmo and only in the theory if he is still alive.
There was one helicopter in the area last I searched. It appeared to be heading back to the airport.Even if they have great information, catching him is by no means a sure thing. King County and the army had two helicopters each looking for him all day yesterday in the Enchantment Pass, Crystal Creek area plus boots on the ground and they came up empty. Crystal Creek drains into Ingalls Creek so they must think he is still headed south. We are talking an area no more than two square miles for yesterday's search. You would think if he was still there they would hone in on his heat signature. Maybe he is dead and wanted his last view to be a beautiful one. Flightradar24.com is your friend if you want to watch helicopters do their thing. Nothing happening right now which could be e good thing.
The convoys are from JBLM for transporting troops and equipment for training exercises at the Yakima Training Center (YTC). It's often referred to as "Yakistan". I had a friend who was in the Army and they did that trek many times to YTC.When I travel eastward of Seattle on Fridays or Saturdays (can't remember which), I often note convoys of Humvee's and other army equipment on trailers headed east on I-90 toward some kind of training area east of the Cascades. Thank you for sharing this, very moving experience. Tearjerker for sure!Tonight I attended an outdoor benefit concert for the girls' mother at Pybus Market in Wenatchee. (Pybus, located between the Columbia River and the heart of downtown Wenatchee, is a popular spot featuring numerous indoor shops and restaurants.) The singer/guitarist who performed (Virgil Eagle of Whiskey Trail) showcased a beautiful voice and did a beautiful job. I know there must have been a lot of thought put into the lyrics of the songs he chose. He performed some appropriate chart toppers from the past and other songs like "I'll Fly Away", "Hallelujah", "Candle in the Wind", "Stand By Me", and "Amazing Grace". Some tearjerkers, I tell you.
A reporter from King 5 News in Seattle, Maddie White, interviewed me and a couple other attendees. The reporter and I were both on the verge of tears when I told her the singer had changed "Angel Flying Too Close to the Ground" to "Angels" at the end. (I think I was approached to be interviewed because I was easily accessible sitting off by myself on a parking lot curb, and my bright pink wrist cast was practically screaming for attention.) Right about this time, word came in about the Ingalls Creek/Valley Hi angle so the reporter and cameraman were well-positioned to go after that and feature it on the 11:00 p.m. news.
On another topic, my next-door neighbor works at the school the girls attended. She says she can't imagine how they will ever be able to thank everyone who is sending them things. Every day more things arrive.....sandwiches and goodies for the staff, plants, flowers.... Photos and flowers have been placed at the entryway of the school.
Do you know if the Walla Walla National Guard, where he is reportedly a sergeant (E5) trains there too? (He joined that in 2021 but reportedly hasn't been to drill for a year.)The convoys are from JBLM for transporting troops and equipment for training exercises at the Yakima Training Center (YTC). Ugh, my kids love Little Caesars. Definitely a thing for kids. Every kid I know loves that pizza. That makes me sad for some reason. He got them their last meal, heartbreaking.Just doing a little research, those pizza boxes are from Little Caesars.
If he isn't armed, then they won't need to "take him out," they will do their best to arrest him without harm.We can hope! Sounds like he doesn’t have a firearm, they may be able to take him out quickly when found. If he doesn’t cancel himself first.
I hope it's peaceful. That would be hard on anyone having to do that.If he isn't armed, then they won't need to "take him out," they will do their best to arrest him without harm.
Honestly, I don't care what was going on in his head. He murdered 3 innocent children.I hope it's peaceful. Not only b/c of Travis but that would be hard on anyone having to do that.
Plus I hope one day he will talk about what was going on in his head.
I understand, you dont want to hear his excuses for unacceptable bahavior ( I'm putting it mildly)Honestly, I don't care what was going on in his head. He murdered 3 innocent children.
If they do find him alive I hope he's taken into custody without incident and will spend the rest of his life behind bars.
