Found Deceased Olivia 5, Evelyn 8 & Paityn Decker 9, Endangered Alert, visitation w/ homeless dad Travis Decker 32, wh 2017 GMC Sierra PU, Wenatchee, 30 May 2025

Actually there was a divorce record for Washington that I located and a parenting plan appeared to be in place. I'm not going to link the court records because I don't know of that is allowed or not.

This just broke my heart when I read the news this morning (WA resident). The alert was all over my social media pages yesterday so to read this outcome is just the worst.

You can link to public records you found. I searched on the Odyssey portal and didn't find anything: Odyssey Portal - Washington Courts Online Case Search

Where did you locate it?

Thanks for the case number. Weird how it wasn't coming up for their name searches.

Looks like the divorce and parenting plan happened in 2022. Then a petition to modify the parenting plan was filed September 2024 and it included some health records (maybe that's when he became homeless or began to have more mental health problems?).

Looks as if a parenting plan was negotiated and modified several times, most recently in September 2024. It appears it was up for discussion again but the last hearing on the matter set in October was cancelled.

ETA It is very difficult to achieve legal service upon the homeless population, I wonder if that played a factor?

"Travis Caleb Decker, 32, remains at large and is wanted on suspicion of three counts of first-degree murder and three of kidnapping."

If he's at large he's likely on foot unless someone gave him a ride. The way this is worded it sounds like the girls weren't in the vehicle, but nearby. He likely knew LE was on the lookout for his vehicle which is why he ditched it.

A deputy located Decker's empty vehicle, a white 2017 GMC Sierra pickup, about 3:45 p.m. Monday near the campground. Chance said the girls' bodies were discovered during a search of the immediate area.

Imo the girls were not shot, or LE would have said he was probably armed.

"It is not known whether Decker is armed, Chance said."

I’m gutted and speechless

The ultimate “punishment” for mom

IMO he ‘only’ had a 3 hour window he knew the girls mummy would raise that alarm asap after 8pm.

You're more forgiving than I am, I'm still too horrified and very angry at this sorry excuse for a 'dad'.

I understand what you're saying regarding a possible mental break.
But the fact that he did it three times -- makes me wonder ....
Imo.

Also I’ve heard nothing of domestic violence - marriages can just breakdown - I think if it was DV related she’d have been more reluctant about letting the 3 girls go with him to visit and it’s have gone through the courts.

Yes, my bad, I did not mean it in the sense that there must be a notable history of DV. More like that in that case he might have the general thought pattern of a DV offender. That if he did it in a "sane" mind, it is imo unlikely he did it because he was, say angry with one of the girls or "lost control in a moment" or anything like that. That in that case I feel like he did it on purpose and this purpose included hurting the mum and maybe some "if I can't have them, no-one can" type of a mindset. That in that case I feel it was cruel and manipulative in essence.

What a worthless coward. This isn't mental illness, this is evil. This is what happens when girls and women are viewed as possessions instead of people.

All the above quotes RSBM. I agree.

So heartbreaking. And, yes, DV-like issues imo. Bolded & underlined by me:
Travis was supposed to seek mental health treatment and anger management counseling under the parenting plan, but never did, court filings said.

He could have killed them some place else.

Sure, but wherever they were left was was in the immediate area. I'm thinking in the bushes where his vehicle was parked. I'm thinking he did it wherever it was they were found. As for his vehicle being left behind... it's a looooon walk out of that campground to anywhere. He likely hitched a ride cuz I'm thinking we would have heard if someone near-ish had their vehicle stolen.

I was thinking he might have killed them elsewhere to avoid ppl seeing kids moving in the truck.

If he was indeed a airborne ranger He is very well equipped to survive in the elements for an extended period. The rangers I know are HARD core. I dont think we can assume he hitched a ride. JMO
-------
Decker likely has advanced infantry combat training. Multiple Facebook and Instagram posts show Decker show he was an airborne paratrooper who earned his elite ‘Ranger’ tab – meaning he has elite wilderness evasion and survival skills.
Who is Travis Decker? What to know about the Wenatchee father wanted for murder

I’m hoping he offed himself somewhere

I kinda hope so too. But that begs the question, if he intends suicide, why not just do it right there where he killed (or disposed of) the girls?

I think he is off in the wild, probably planning to hunker down and stay there or try to cross the border into Canada.

Worth noting that the PCT (Pacific Crest Trail, a major hiking trail from California to Canada) is about 40 miles west of Leavenworth, at Stevens Pass. Hikers can receive packages and use the facilities at the Stevens Pass lodge. There's a bus that runs between the lodge and Leavenworth. In the spring and summer, it's common to see PCT hikers taking side trips into Leavenworth where there is a large grocery store and other shopping and services. It would not be difficult for someone to hitch a ride from the Icicle Valley campgrounds into Leavenworth, take the bus to Stevens Pass, and head out on the PCT.

Did law enforcement just announce he unalived the children? I can't find the FB post now.
No, they announced he was wanted for their murder. JMO but I hate the word "unalive". Let's not sanitize it; let's call it as it is. The man is wanted for murdering his children:

Travis Decker is still at large and wanted for the murder of his three daughters, Olivia, Evelyn and Paityn.
