nothing has been mentioned in MSM about whether this planned visitation was court determined or just something the two parents worked out. The girls were meant to be with their father for three hours, just long enough to go grab some dinner and spend some time together.

Mom had stated before they were found that Travis struggles with his mental health since leaving the military but adored the girls and she didn't consider him to be a danger to them.

Unfortunately she was very very mistaken that he wasn't a danger. I am sure she is blaming herself. But I cannot fault her.

Sometimes to mentally ill people love equals taking them out of this world, unfortunately.

As I wrote some pages back, there isn't anything in the Washington state court system records online for a divorce or a parenting plan for this couple. If there was a divorce or a legal parenting plan in place, it must have happened in another state.

I have not read that anyone has been spotted elsewhere or his truck, please correct me if I'm wrong. Any chance he was bringing the kids back and there was an accident? IMO. I don't think this but thought I would bring it up.

The Wenatchee and central WA area is extremely remote. There is minimal cell coverage over huge swaths of the area. This could be anywhere and that is terrifying.

I found it creepy that there are only two public posts and that was one of them. It appears to be the skeletal remains of a mule deer.

Coroners, cops and first responders have a job to do and they do it with honor and integrity.
My thoughts are with the ones who had to recover the bodies.
I couldn't do that job.
Ever.
Possibly some of them can keep it together until they get home... and then break down.

Part of me wants this perp to decide by his own hand, as long as no one else is harmed.
The other part wants to see him live out his life in as small a cage as possible.
WA doesn't have the ultimate punishment, or this case would be the poster child for why it's needed.

I posted earlier in the thread my distress that an Amber Alert was not issued at the request of the Wenatchee Police Department to the Washington State Patrol. Would it have helped authorities locate his truck sooner sadly we will never know.


The article link from Fox 13 Seattle at the bottom of the screen ‘questions why after the Wenatchee Police jumped through all the hoops submitting all the criteria’ why were they rebuffed by the Washington State Patrol.I truly feel bad for the entire Wenatchee Police Department because they did everything in their power to get an amber alert.

My original post asks the same question. Someone at the Washington State Patrol needs to be accountable.

it seems like they might be hanging on the 'in danger of imminent death or serious bodily injury' - seems to me all the other elements are met

If a court ordered this visitation I share the outrage of others. But if, as I suspect, this planned visitation was simply between the parents, how awful for this mother. Trying to do the right thing, never for a moment thinking this father would harm the children he reportedly adored.

Actually there was a divorce record for Washington that I located and a parenting plan appeared to be in place. I'm not going to link the court records because I don't know of that is allowed or not.

This just broke my heart when I read the news this morning (WA resident). The alert was all over my social media pages yesterday so to read this outcome is just the worst.
