I hope they're using heat seeking technology from the air, and for boots on the ground, they're remembering to look UP.

And that there's no more loss of life unless it's his.

It sounds like from what I've read so far, this guy was going downhill once he left active duty,

This all my opinion.
any informaton on why he left active duty? I dont knw much about the military, or how long you can serve?
One article said he was part time but was about to be discharged for not going to meetings/drills.

He refused to sign a paper to get a court ordered evaluation.
I wonder if he thought it would affect visits/ access.?

Seems like he was on a downward spral. diagnosed with bi polar possibly unmedicated. leaves active duty, divorce, homelessnes custody issues. things just progressively worse for him, wonder when it started? At one point he was obviously a very high achiever. Its like he lost his identity and had nothing left to lose.

Somehow he kept it together enough to own an expensive truck.

I wondered how he was paying for that? Hs FB profile said he worked for a carpenters union? so did he work?

If the land is rugged enough maybe they'll never find him a la DB Cooper. Earlier someone here noted that he wasn"t all that far from the PCT. He could have 4-5 months of decent foraging with what he learned in the military. And if he really did plan this, he could have cached food, outdoor supplies.

Having an expensive vehicle doesn’t mean he wasn’t mentally unstable.

He could have a disability rating and get a monthly check for that. If he's rated at 100%, he can still work, but he would be compensated around $4,000 a month. The amount is decreased as the percentage is lowered. I need to look again, but I think I saw he was Ranger qualified so it's likely he has some type of ailments other than mental health to be rated for.

IMO

I’m bleeding for this mom. I truly am confident I wouldn’t be strong enough to live after this unless there were other children
I hope Mom is being provided protection in a safe place.

Me too,I fear that he will circle back to her and finish it before he takes his own life. I can't even fathom the pain this mother is feeling right now,but I do pray for her safety and justice for her girls.

He was employed in some capacity, at least until Monday. (BBM)

"When Travis Decker was picking up his daughters for a scheduled visit, his ex noted he "was quieter than usual, which was out of character." She mentioned a recent ticket being a financial burden for him, along with garnished wages due to back child support. She also stated he was talking about getting rid of his dog due to housing and additional financial concerns."

"On Monday, June 2, he failed to show up to work. His boss noted "some recent mental health concerns" to detectives."

That says a lot. Pressure was buidling, wonder if not taking care of his mental health started the downhill spiral, or if other things going on made him not take care of his mental health. Probably both together eventually.

I think he traveled to one of his favorite places outdoors and offed himself already. I can't see him allowing himself to go to any prison considering what he knows will happen to him due to what he did. He's a coward plain and simple and not going to stick around in this lifetime any longer to be punished.. jmo

Do you think he would go after his ex? Seems to me he got what he wanted, to make her hurt as much as possible. who knows, if they didnt think he'd do this, there's no telling what he would do.

I don't think so personally. I think he wants her to live with what he did for the rest of her living life.. sadly.. 🥺

It shows priorities. He was "homeless", but not out of money assuming it had equity. Not that I think he should have sold his only means of applying for work and seeing his family. But it defines, imo, his homelessness as more temporary.
