Not sure if this was already pointed out, as just joining here, but his appearance seems to change dramatically over the years with frequent alterations in head & facial hair
Yes, lived off grid quite a bit by bringing everything I needed & nothing that I didn't.Not exactly. Lots of people who go off grid bring supplies with them. It just means no longer relying on modern conveniences like electricity.
Off-grid living involves creating a living environment that operates independently from the electrical grid, water supply, and sewer system. It is a lifestyle choice that relies on self-sustaining systems for power, water, and food. Some key points about off-grid living include:

It's more common to have high sweats, than bed wetting. High sweats are also very intens and smelly. (I have PTSD with periodic high sweats) As an adult I've wetted the bed once(pee), while sweats comes in periods of high stress levels and are just as repulsing imo.Bed wetting is a common ptsd symptom even for adults
Yes, I also believe rejection was the motivation. How scary that a man is capable of thisIn my opinion the fact that he tried to reconcile their marriage and she rejected him was key in this situation.
The girls suffered, had to watch each other being zip tied and dying. He probably watch them die in those minutes or walked away with the knowledge they suffered those long minutes. This feels like punishment for his ex wife.

I agree. I still firmly believe he had grandiose fancies of himself and played mind games and this is a big, sick, disgusting mind game from him.In my opinion the fact that he tried to reconcile their marriage and she rejected him was key in this situation.

Agree "going off grid" probably meams more the ending of reliance on conventional sources for energy, food etc. like a prepper. Not exactly. Lots of people who go off grid bring supplies with them. It just means no longer relying on modern conveniences like electricity.

Especially because he told the girls he might be moving back home, then after being turned down he showed up on the door step to apologize to the kids . Did he really believe there was a chance for him?In my opinion the fact that he tried to reconcile their marriage and she rejected him was key in this situation.
He also had a tent set up. im hoping as he took one out the others were in the tent, and didnt see. If they had to watch eachother, they would have run (unless incapacitated) they mentioned their hands being bound but not their feet. Im hoping they didnt see what was coming. Maybe he treated it like a game or something. The girls suffered, had to watch each other being zip tied and dying. I haven't read all the comments, but, he spent less than 3 minutes on searching. Surely he wasn't serious about any of it, and my opinion is ,it was done to throw off the search. I think he went in the other direction.
I hope LE can make arrangements to get the National Guard to help in the search. More boots on the ground.
Painful to read that article. All the signs were there, it’s like watching a train come down the tracks and not being able to move out of the way. While WD's attorney tells PEOPLE that they believe TD's already deceased, they did file a restraining order against him on 6/3/25. The petition detailed some interesting information about his behavior at work on Friday, and the weeks leading up to the murders.

Wenatchee mother's restraining order reveals Travis Decker's escalating behavior
CHELAN COUNTY, Wash. — A protection order petition filed by the mother of three murdered Wenatchee girls exposes the escalating behavior of Travis Decker in the weeks before their disappearance.www.kxly.com
Adding she was also legally handicapped. It sounds like she tried the legal route. Many would like to think they would just take the kids and disappear as a way to protect them. But think about that for a minute. In reality how hard would that be to actually do? There has been no mention of what her support system was like. But maybe she had limited resources and support? I’m heartbroken for her, can’t even imagine how she can move forward.Hoping they find <modsnip - namecalling> very soon.
I feel so sorry for Whitney, she likely had so many misgivings about his access arrangements to the girls, she possibly breathed a sigh of relief each time he returned them and dreaded the next. I truly hope she doesn't feel guilty that she allowed them to go, she couldn't have predicted this.
I’m sorry if this has been brought up, I’m trying to catch up…..was it said/insinuated anywhere that he was angry with Whitney? With how awful it sounded like his mental health was, maybe that wasn’t the cause at all….like we see in so many other cases like this…..I’m wondering if maybe hurting her wasn’t even a factor….he had the ultimate break down and maybe a huge part of his turmoil (there’s probably a stronger word!) was that he knew (thought) he couldn’t provide for them so in his terribly sick with PTSD head thought that this would bring him relief? Or even them relief, ugh. IOW, not the usual father who feels wronged by the mother in a divorce and wants to punish her scenario that we’ve sadly and maddeningly seen too often. I’ve just been wondering this. Again, I’m so far behind, sorry if it’s been discussed anywhere!MOO "I love them so much, if i cant have them, no one will."
Possibly, but he might have been so unhappy with his life that he truly was looking for a new start. It would have taken him only three minutes to see that he would not be eligible for a quick entry into Canada.
I’ve thought about that myself. Similar to the Santa Barbara Dad Matthew Coleman who fled with his kids to Mexico and killed them with a spear fishing gun. He was in full psychosis.I’m sorry if this has been brought up, I’m trying to catch up…..was it said/insinuated anywhere that he was angry with Whitney? I am going to agree to disagree. A mother or father facing housing instability does not mean they should no longer have rights to their children they previously enjoyed. Many, many people experience extreme circumstances and get back on their feet. Part of co-parenting and parenting plans is to preserve relationships. This involves maturity, being focused on the children, and longevity. The father taking the kids out to dinner, is a perfectly normal way to maintain the relationships. Ideally, dad would have gotten back on his feet and the homeless period of his life would be a speed bump on the co-parenting journey.
I do agree, it is difficult to get into any provider for mental health issues. Especially the VA. Due to recent administrative cuts, multiple roles at the VA simply don't exist anymore. Case Management services are gone, in my area the entire VA Suicide Out Reach/Counseling and Crisis Teams literally no longer exist-gone, Counselors, Psychologists, gone. Patients were not notified that staff they trusted have been eliminate. VA was clonky to get help to begin with, but now you are looking at 4-6 months plus to even get seen.
*Not a political post, just emphasizing how getting help is so difficult, now it is so much harder for certain populations.

I'm hoping he drugged them so they were unconscious when he put the bags over their heads. He may have zip tied them to stop them clawing at the bags if they became semi-conscious. It's hard to fathom the level of cruelty toward his own children. And if he did remove the zip ties why not the plastic bags. What message does that send? Depending on how long it took to find the bodies the COD could have been undermined."signs" of hands being zip tied, so did he remove the zip ties?
i think i heard earlier that they were either zip tied or showed signs of being zip tied, so maybe for some reason he removed the zips from one of them. Interesting.
I cannot comprehend what frame of mind one would have to be in to torture these girls like that. his own flesh and blood.
One after the other, not a quick or pain free method,
I dont even want to think about the details
