Hi everyone, I’ve only posted on websleuths a few times over the years, so I don’t know if I’m doing this correctly. And if anything I post is against the TOS please let me know and delete or I will delete. I am a mental health therapist, and I have been treating, PTSD, BPD and mood and other anxiety disorders for 25 years. I have worked with a lot of families who have been victims of domestic violence (family violence is the newest term). And one thing that I am wondered is if Whitney may have been exposed to domestic violence that was perpetrated by him, if she and the children were exposed to more of that than has been disclosed. And if so, if perhaps she and the children had developed some Stockholm Syndrome. That is common among family violence victims as many of them find it very painful to acknowledge that their loved one is capable of such psychological, physical, sexual, financial, religious abuse and any of the other types of abuse. When I say that I certainly don’t mean that in any negative way. I mean it as a point of concern for her and to illustrate my hope that she has a lot of support to help her navigate the trauma that she has endured. And to say that it is possible that he had more of a history of violent behavior than had been reported. I have a hunch about that.
An additional thing is that I do some DIalectical Behavior Therapy for BPD and Transference Focused Psychotherapy. Per the TFP deeper exploration of Borderline Personality there is some research about NPD. Specifically that that is a more infantile manifestation of BPD and that violence and disconnection from or admonishment of empathy and conscience can occur. Thus resulting in violent behavior. And there is much deep rooted insecurity that fuels that.
On that note I believe that TD retaliated against Whitney for the fact that she did not want to reconcile. I also wonder if he retaliated against his daughters because he was angry about the fact that his wages were being garnished to make up for back child support. It is also possible that he had and has some psychosis. All of those things are not mutually exclusive. Lastly, I watched the video several times and I saw (at least what appears to me) doing a sweep of the door to check for wires, camera attachments or other related sensors. I think that was likely what he was doing and was indicative of paranoia.
All of this is strictly my opinion. And I hope and pray that law enforcement is providing protection for Whitney and her family. And that she has so much support.
