Reporters are saying that they are still not allowed into the courtroom at 1:30. Is this a private hearing between judge and lawyers?

I think it means a hearing in chambers (outside the presence of the jury).

The plea deal seems to be more and more plausible, imo unless it's some stupid defense motion not to have Tara in the courtroom.

The defense/pros must be disputing evidence or perhaps disputes witnesses on the opposition's witness list.

Ok, so now it sounds like they just ended up holding the incamera session in the courtroom, rather than the judge's chambers as customary.

Probably something that came up at the last minute. One of the lawyers may have seen something on the oppositions lists or whatever, while they were reviewing the case this weekend.

it has roots in meaning other than an actual camera like a picture-taking kind (it was actually a building iirc)

I suspect the in-camera hearing has to do with the publication ban and the sensitivity of some of the information that they still don't want the public to hear - JMO.
