If your girlfriend was lost in the woods would you just go to sleep or keep looking for her?

I think that might depend on the circumstances...if someone wasn’t sober, that might change what they do.

In search for missing North Plains woman, WCSO asking public not to go to search areas
Washington County Sheriff's Office is still following up on specific clues from the public, but also asking that the public not interfere with search efforts for missing woman, Allyson Watterson.

[…]

"We are still doing specific, focused searches where we want to make sure we are preserving specific areas that we are in. We want to do it methodically and do it properly. And so, those efforts are going to continue, " said Detective Mark Povolny with WCSO. "We are asking members of the public, even if they are well-intentioned, to make sure that they are not going into those search areas."

He said that aside from that being counter-productive to efforts to find Allyson, they could also be trespassing on private property.

Would not look if I was responsible for her being lost. Seems like there is a definite place where this is going. I am hoping she is found.

We are still working on confirming whether or not she stayed in this area or may have left the area,” he said. “We don’t want to speculate, so we’re acting on the best information we have right now while at the same time being open-minded about whatever possibilities may be out there — tracking down any leads that come in.”

The search switched to solely using trained personnel after 3 days utilizing volunteers. The searchers are finding clues, but Deputy Tony Morris, the incident search commander, has declined to share what those clues were multiple times.

Smart of them to share more photos. Looking back at her older FB account she looks quite different without makeup/filters so this helps people get a sense of what she really looks like.
I work with a Search Group in Portland and we go through this very often. As soon as we put more natural pictures on a flyer the shares and posts quadruple. It's best to start with the natural picture then add the most recent blue red green hair, tattoos, piercing pics once the shares and posts maximize. Seems to always start in the reverse. People engage much more with the "not so wild" look as a majority. I wish the news channels would figure this out as well. It's sad but true...

“On Thursday, when the new discovery was made, an Oregon National Guard helicopter with heat-sensing cameras was being used to aid the search.

“[We] have found some interesting items and clues that we’re going to try to find out more information tomorrow with a different type of search,” Washington County Sheriff’s Deputy Tony Morris said at a press conference.

“I’m not free to say what it is at this point. Just know that it’s something that’s going to change the type of searching we’re doing.”

Searchers are still looking for Allyson Watterson in North Plains. Det. Mark Povolny is asking the community to connect detectives to the person who gave Allyson's mom a cell phone. She in turn passed it on to her daughter. Pic Courtesy: @WCSOOregon #FindAllyson #koin6news #PDX

We had been looking to identify a neighbor who might have heard a knock on their door late Sunday night. Detectives identified that person and learned it was actually related to the last time Allyson was seen on Sunday morning and turned out not to be new info
