Sandy police asked for the public's help Friday night in finding a missing woman who had been staying in the Bend area but reportedly traveled to the Portland area.

Amy Tovar, 48, may have met with someone at a Portland Goodwill store and been placed in a motel or hotel room.

"Ms. Tovar is endangered, as she needs specific medication," the police statement said.

That is about a 3 hour drive. The phrase "placed in a hotel room". I don't know what to think about that.

So is it possible she had a hotel room paid for by someone else, or is she being forced into prostitution.
Strange wording indeed.

Her fb profile: Amy Howard

I found the link in one of her friend's appeals to find her.

Since the first appeal, there has been nothing in the news. The apppeal originated from Sandy PD, which doesn't appear to be on social media. There's a Goodwill store in the local area (pic made from Google Maps), with others much further away. Why is her case handled by Sandy PD? Was she last seen in the area? Are there hotels/motels nearby?

I find it strange that her family doesn't appear to be publicly searching for her. In the absence of official info, her best friend is posting appeals on social media (including on Oregon's Missing Persons fb) with another picture of her and a couple of details about her disappearance in the comments. She has still not been found.

New information at: Missing Persons Cases Network

She has Lyme Disease and needs medication. Amy's son died in March 2019. She was staying with her mother in Bend for three weeks. Before she disappeared she stayed in Best Western in Sandy, OR with her boyfriend, where other guests complained about the yelling coming from their room. She called her daughter from a Goodwill store in Portland on July 23, which was her last contact with family.

There are two locations with a Safeway and a Goodwill store in close proximity. One is in Sandy, also very close to the Best Western hotel (pic from Google Maps), where she was staying with her boyfriend and the other in Portland, on NE Broadway Street.

She was left stranded when she left Safeway and went to the Goodwill store to make a phone call. Does that mean that she did not have a cellphone on her? If this were in Sandy, she would not need a car to return to her hotel, as it was that close. Since it's mentioned that her things were left in the car, maybe they already checked out of the hotel.

Stated distance from an unknown location to the ER was 27 miles. Shortest distance between Best Western in Sandy and the Providence Medical Center in Portland is 24,3 miles, so she could have been in that area when an ambulance was called.

When did other hotel guests hear her argue with the boyfriend? The same day she went to the ER? Where did she go from the ER? Was she picked up by someone? What does the boyfriend say? Where and when did the two part ways? Where are her things and more importantly her medication?

No news, just questions. Where did she spend the night on June 23? Probably not in the same Best Western, or we would have confirmation when she left.
Was the boyfriend still with her at that point? Is his account not included in "last seen" info? It would be easy for the police to check with him if they went to another hotel. That makes me think that at some point she went somewhere on her own. She used an ATM on the 23th, but was without her belongings. Was her phone among them (no mention of pings)? Did the boyfriend at least give her her things back? The articles mention that she needs medication, but they don't say if she has it with her. How come that it's not known where the ambulance was called from? Aren't these things recorded? How did/does she get around without a car without being noticed? Could she be in a rehab facility somewhere?

It can take several days for “Found Safe” information to show up in MSM. Same thing happened in the Kevin Ellis case (also Portland OR). I really hope Amy has been found. But I wonder about her being without her meds for so long, or was she?
