Plead not guilty. Held without bond. Bond was denied (4/29/20).
Trial began on 3/14/22 with jury selection & ended 3/18/22. Trial starts on 4/4/22 (expected to last to 5/20/22).

4/4/22 Monday, Trial Day 1: The judge announced Crampton-Brophy’s 2011 essay “How to Murder Your Husband” will be excluded from the evidence in the trial. The judge called the essay “in-admissible.” Next, he announced the jury, the rules of the trial, followed by opening statements from the prosecution.

Clarinda Perez was the person to discover Daniel Brophy on his back on the floor of a culinary institute kitchen. She was the third witness to testify Tuesday.

The first witness to testify Tuesday was Courtney Arias. She was a pastry student at the Oregon Culinary Institute at the time of Chef Brophy’s death.

Miranda Bernhard was the second person to testify Tuesday morning. She was a culinary student of Chef Brophy’s at the time
