Found Safe OR - Elisa Salmeron 9, Gresham, 13 March 2017

oh good, I see you got it worked out Mistree. please disregard my most recent communication in that case ;)

I did, (NIN also helped) but I just deleted the posts due to her being found and the sensitive nature of the pics.

Would like to know the story here. Glad she's safe, though!

Police and neighbors say this is the home where those kids were found. #LiveOnK2

I'm wondering if "kids" refers to the young people in the video. Maybe they are homeless juveniles or runaways who thought she was a runaway and looked after her? I'm just trying to think of innocent explanations here...

I'm seeing more and more reports of her taking the trash out at 11:00, not 9:30. This causes so many more questions, for me. I wonder if CPS automatically gets involved in situations like this.
I suppose we might never know what happened, but I am so glad she is safe!!!

The time on the video of her using the ATM is 11:01, so she went missing before 11 pm, but how is the world did she hook up with the unknown people? Wonder if LE questioned them.

Really is strange, but I'm so glad she is home safe..

It looks like they were squatting. From this link

Investigators said they received a tip from someone who recognized one of the adults in the surveillance images released by police and reported that the person was staying in the nearby abandoned property.

Maybe Elisa knew the boy who seemed to be closer to her own age?

I'm troubled by this case. The child looked terrified as she was returned home (I guess many kids might be if they took off, even if they were just upset about something) and she doesn't hug her mother back when she is returned.

I would like to see some follow up by social services - maybe just figure out if this was a simple case of the kid being angry about something and taking off or if something else is happening. What is her attendance like? Mom is in a wheel chair and the kid was taking the trash out at 9:00 p.m. Is she taking care of a lot of stuff at home and overwhelmed? Does she have behavioral or cognitive issues that need to be addressed?

Kids do threaten to run away or back stuff and try to march off. It happens. But I think it's rarer that a small child takes off at night and actually boards a train, and/or leaves with strangers. She could have been assaulted or murdered by anyone coming along. What is so bad that she resorted to all that?

I didn't realize they had updated this link. It's been posted before but here's some of the new info.

Officers believe the girl ran away from home Monday night and happened to meet other runaways who brought her to the house to keep her safe.
...
A 15-year-old named Dennis, who did not want to be fully identified, said he was one of the teenagers who found the 9-year-old and added that he was worried for her.

“We were worried because it was late, and she was by herself, and she’s a little girl, so we asked her some questions,” he said.

Dennis said the girl told the teens she was homeless and going to the park, but they were concerned about her so they brought her to the vacant home Dennis knew about on Burnside and 142nd.

“(We) broke into it, gave her a place to sleep, gave her some food and that was about it,” he explained.

Officers and the girl’s mother still had no idea where she was until a neighbor who saw the teens at the house called police around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, at which point two nearby officers rushed over and found Elisa safe and sound.

They say two of the three teenagers she was with were also reported as runaways, and they have been returned home as well.
