In September 1987, a hunter discovered skeletal parts near Delph Creek outside of Estacada, Clackamas County, OR. The remains appear to be that of a young white female, age 16 to 25.

Upper teeth present, DNA sample not yet submitted for testing.

Is this a Dayton Roger's victim? It seems like around the same place..

Here's a new addition to NamUs:

Tawnia Jarie Johnston

https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/21450/0

Although her Age LKA is listed in NamUs as 20 years old (on 01-Apr-1987), she is listed in Ancestry.com with a DOB 07-Sep-1968, meaning that she would have been 18 on 01-Apr-1987.

There is a Tawnie Johnston who went to Churchill High School, Class of 1987. This appears to be the same person as the "Tawnia J Johnston" listed in Ancestry, and probably the same person as the "Tawnia Jarie Johnston" listed in NamUs.

Here is her Sophomore photo from the 1985 Chruchill HS yearbook.

There's not much info on the Jane Doe. But Tawnia (or Tawnie) would seem to be a solid possible based on the timeline, age, and location.

Hmmmmm. Tawnia's NamUs casefile is now closed ("Found"), and this Jane Doe's casefile is also now restricted.

Tawnia was matched to UP 10017, which was found in Molalla Oregon in Sept 1987.

This Jane Doe was ID'd as Betty Louise Johnson (MP 19940). Her MP Casefile is still open.

There's nothing about her. I read somewhere that Betty disappeared in the southeast of Portland when she headed to a 7-Eleven; she never arrived. A week later, some of her clothing was located in Estacada; it had blood stains.
I read that before she was identified, I can't recall where, but now there's nothing. She's not even in Doe Network as a resolved case, no articles... Nothing.
I also read that her family and friends suspected she had been murdered, maybe by a serial killer, and they thought that whoever did it was still at large. Why they suspected that? I don't know. There's no source, but I translate many of the cases I read about, and I have that info, so I had to read it somewhere.

Officials say they've identified the eighth victim of the so-called Mollala Forest Murderer. The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office says DNA evidence was used to identify Tawnia Jarie Johnson, whose body was found at a Mollala dump in 1987. Johnson is believed to be one of the victims of David Leroy Rogers, who was found guilty in the late 1980s for the murders of seven other women. Six of the those victims were found in the same dump where Johnson's body was found.

According to this timeline, he was a free man in 1975.

I think this post is in the incorrect thread. Tawnia's case is this link Identified! - OR - Mollala, Wht/AsianFem UP10017, 18-25, Sep'87 - Tawnia Johnston
