Both Gordon and the unknown decedent’s pages were removed from NAMUS in early October 2024. Would seem like it’s a match.

yes but in order for WS to claim it as a match I think there needs to be some LE or official acknowledgement that the suggestion came from a WS member.

Hopefully the poster who suggested the match has heard.

I haven’t seen any announcement or anything from LE about Gordon being identified at all, could potentially be the family wanted privacy? Not sure how that all works. I only noticed his NAMUS page was removed after browsing an ‘identified’ list for 2024 on Doe Project and saw his name listed. There wasn’t any further information on there either.

The last I heard was a few months ago when the forensic dentist was about 96% sure it was a match. I then got a follow-up message saying that law enforcement was aware of this and they were trying to get a more definitive match but were having some trouble doing so. Nothing since then. Both profiles were removed at the same time. Everything suggests this was a positive match, but nothing was 100% confirmed.(edited to add that the trouble they were encountering may have been due to a lack of DNA available for the doe.)
