I have to wander if someone picked him up by car?

<Police still on the hunt for missing Ashland man

Jackson County Search & Rescue teams searched the property surrounding Hardesty’s home in the 1200 block of Oak Street over the weekend.

Air searches included use of a helicopter, airplanes and a drone. Crews have also searched nearby Bear Creek and throughout the property grounds, according to a Facebook post.>

Harold is mentioned and a plea for information is made at the end of this story about keeping residents safe at a local assisted living and memory care facility. The article states that this facility "came up with a system" for keeping residents safe. Ummmm....no. Pendants with a push button have been in use for at least two decades, if not longer.

OT--Although this facility has a number of security measures in place to protect residents with dementia from wandering, the call button pendant mentioned is pretty worthless for most people dealing with memory issues IMO. Not only do they forget to wear it, but they most likely would not remember to push the button in an emergency. And if they get outside the building it's worthless. We are currently helping an elderly friend with dementia in assisted living. He rarely wears or frequently removes his pendant, and even if he wore it, he would not think to use it if he fell in his room or needed help. I hate to see families given a false sense of security because their loved one has a pendant. Dementia is a beast!

This is interesting to me, Lilibet. I've been listening to the scanner recently and have heard quite a few recorded messages come over the line...an example of...fall at 1234 No Lane Ave...I wonder if these types of computer generated messages (for lack of a clearer way to explain it, it was human [emoji51]) is perhaps some of these pendants or another similar type of device that is designed to send out a distress call with the click of a button?

It could be automated. I don't know how all pendants work. I would hope it wouldn't be an automated signal to emergency services without making sure it's necessary and not a glitch. The pendant by Lifeline used by another friend of ours (who lives at home) provides for a real phone call from a real person. First, they call the pendant owner and if no response they call friends on the list (we are second) and then emergency services. During a big wind recently, her pendant signaled them and her phone was sporadic and they couldn't reach her so we got called twice in one night...all because of intermittent cable/phone. Friend #1 went the first time at 1:15 a.m., and I opted to let emergency services handle it the second time at 4:40 a.m. I hope that won't happen again!

Just checking in; no new news. IT was an absolutely beautiful spring day here in Southern Oregon; I sure wish Harold was home enjoying it. Praying his family and friends have some answers soon.

Was his 20 acre property searched? How about the area nearby where he lived?

Yes. His property and its surroundings have been the main focus, including the two creeks bordering it. The creeks are still pretty high right now, and I've seen pictures of search teams in the creek attached to cables to protect them from the current. They've also searched with aircraft and drones. I'm not sure how far out from his property they've searched on foot or with dogs. It's a pretty open area, not particularly wooded, compared to other parts of Ashland, so aerial searches would be useful. We have a really good SAR team here and they've been put to good use.
