It is interesting in the audio recording DD says where "she went in" and towards the end hes says "where they went in". <modsnip>JMO

I'm still having a hard time understanding him. He was looking down and heard her voice. So he kept looking up. So was he looking up or was he looking down? I still have no clue of his actual location when he found her.

In the 911 call he said he was down on the rocky beach. That would make it sound like he was down at the water, but that would be pretty much impossible. So it sounds like maybe he climbed partway down the cliff, and was at about the same level as she was, and seems to be mixed up if he was looking up or down.

I think he was at the beach and looking down just meant he was looking at the ground.

Ok I will link the news story since I'm understanding that's allowed.
But please be aware that what someone (2 people) have indicated in the comments is rumour only...no way of knowing if it is true, and if it's not then shame on them.

(I've also read in various comments elsewhere that this couple are "good people", said by people who say they know both Heather and her husband.)

VERY interesting comments.

incredible!

It seem so as though he tried very hard to sound shocked, but I don't think he did a very good job at doing so.

I imagine I would be a lot more emotional upon finding a family member or significant other whom I likely presumed dead.

It was noted that she didn't appear in the stills to have sunburn, or windburn. The temperatures and that sun on the ocean would've been deadening for 12+ hours per day for 4-5 days. She would've/should've been absolutely friend from the sun if she really spent all that time on that cliff.

Just my opinion of course. There's a lot of interesting comments and information on the Facebook page(s) dedicated to figuring out what happened, although I know we are not at liberty to discuss these.

If she wasn't on the cliff the entire time I feel terrible for her family and children that weren't potentially knowledgeable on her disappearance. That's a terrible thing to put them through regardless of the reason for doing so.

If she wasn't on the cliff, I wonder where she was? The police and coast guard seem to be staying away from the world 'probable' and sticking with the word 'possible,' in regards to her being there the whole time.

The day after she went missing news said family reported she had a friend she would visit on occasion that lived in the Florence area where her car was found. I don't know if that has any bearing on this case or not.

It looks to me like the only way to get to the cliff is by accident or suicide attempt or possibly rappelling with a rope. I don't think she could have roped down to that spot without others noticing. Trying to climb down at night, after people were looking for her, seems extremely dangerous. I think she was there the whole time.

yikes
hiking = people are always getting lost and hurt
hiking in a mountainous or coastal terrain = more injuries and deaths
I'll pass
glad you're ok though!

Just a thought. Today I was on the coast hiking on a trail at the top of a cliff. The trail was sloped and very sandy. I was walking very carefully to make sure I didn't slip. The trail became increasingly sloped. Suddenly I started slipping and I had to grab hold of a tree root to keep from sliding right off the edge of the cliff. So I don't find it hard to believe that she fell and slide down the slope, until she managed to grab hold of the bushes. That's just the way the coast is. Many people fall to their deaths on the coast all the time.

don't people usually give the important info first such as 'Help I need police! I've been robbed!' or 'We need an ambulance. There's been a terrible accident!' or 'Send the fire dep't. My neighbour's house is on fire!' and then the operator starts getting details like location, injuries, victims, weapons etc.? Just my experience JMO.

I listened to the entire call. I think all parties involved seemed very confused. His first mistake was giving way too much information, too soon. He should have just reported that there was a person over the cliff, and that she needed a Coast Guard Helicopter rescue, and if that was not available, then a Fire Department rope rescue. After the Coast Guard and the Fire Department were on the way, then he could have given more information about who she was. Unfortunately he didn't give the important information first. I'm also not putting too much stake in anything that was said in the call. Just because of the state of confusion. I think he conflicted himself several times.

[bbm]

you might wanna wait until all the details come out
right now I'm saving hero status for the guy who actually hung from a helicopter to pull her out and the helicopter pilot
(and of course all the police, first responders, SAR volunteers)

The only thing that matters is that she is safe. Also her husband is an incredible hero of mine now!

The thing that bothers me about this is that if the details come out that this was a falsified disappearance it could make the agencies in that area rethink their urgency in a case like this. Which is totally not fair to future people whom really need help.

As all the details are not known at this point, please forego the negative speculation and remain victim friendly.

I wouldn't worry about that IMO. Agencies are there to help people who need help. They don't have the authority to decide how urgent the need is based on whether they think a story is true or not. How could they make that kind of judgement with any accuracy? Besides, even when people have gotten themselves into a bad situation due to their own obvious negligence, agencies view their work as good training. It's what they do, and I'm sure they will continue doing it, because the desire to help someone overrides potential cynicism.

I slipped myself down an embankment (into a river/creek) the other day.

Hi Normancita!

I wish more info would come out as well, but I think it will just be a "thank you for your thoughts and prayers now please respect our privacy and just be glad she's safe.." That's their prerogative.

I believe there's a lot more to it, but will zip it and be happy for the family and hope she gets the help she needs.

Hi Anonypotomous!

Good to "see you!" I agree 100% what you've said.

It is indeed great that she's home safe. Unfortunately, I'm very nosy and can't help but wonder about the backstory.

I hope she gets the help she needs to heal and deal with her issues.
