OR OR - Heather Thompson, 39, Roseburg, 4 Aug 2010

  • #41
Being a dog person, I jumped on that right away. Yes, I would say that Heather has had a number of shepherd type dogs, one of which looked to be full breed. I don't know if Oregon is unique but we have a lot of people who are extremely connected to their dogs..even considering them their spiritual familiars. These are not my beliefs but I'm just stating what I've come to accept and feel comfortable with in Ashland. We're about as oovy groovy as you get down here. I would say that Roseburg is a bit more "country" and rugged but with elements of the oovy-groovyness. I say this with no disrespect. We are a unique state.

My guess is that Heather had some sort of a special name. Most spiritual advisers do. There were several listed on some of the links above but nothing seemed to fit. Possibly her extended family might know. I wonder if the A Sharp has any meaning. She used it for her cleaning business.

I don't know if everyone found it as odd as I did just how many older photos Heather had saved on her MS. That's quite unique. Once again, dogs figured in strongly. And you are right, Wrinkles, the dog would most likely have protected her if possible. My guess is that the dog was outside or that the killer knew the dog and thus managed to move it. I noticed they used the word "unattended". That makes me think that possibly it was left loose. I think they would have said "closed in the house" otherwise.

I have to agree, Wrinkles, about the Albany plans. I don't know where you are located but Albany is not known as a "charming" town which would be a good fit for a spiritual woman. It's right on I-5 and is very blue-collar. They are really suffering from loss of industry. No doubt there are deals to be had in real estate but Heather didn't seem to arrive in Oregon with a lot. If she wanted to find a community which would be accepting of her lifestyle, she would choose Ashland, the Applegate area (Ruch and Williams), or anywhere around Eugene. The two that would be the least expensive but literally rich in people of like minds would be Ruch and Williams. Ashland and Eugene are quite spendy. I can't help but think that she wanted access to I-5 for some reason. Roseburg and Albany would both offer that.

I am in no way saying that there aren't spiritual people, Pagans and Wiccans spread among our entire state. There are. I'm just naming pockets of very accepting places. I wish we could find out if she'd attended the Oregon Country Fair in mid July. Anyone into the spiritual, Tarot, readings, spells, magick, and crystals would have been there. It's a huge gathering in Veneta, up near Eugene. Here's the link but note that they've already put up info for next year. There are several photo galleries, though.

Another thought. I wonder if Heather had plans to attend Burning Man this year. It's in only a month and would be a natural draw for her, I would think.

A few interesting but confusing links and that's it for the night:

From a link of Heather's MS:

http://www.moonlightpath.org/ (I can't seem to be able to open any links here)

http://www.traceli.com/directory/location/or/glide/moonlightpath-llc (unsure about this)

Also, Heather says she doesn't want children but it sure looks as it her ex has two boys. Did she have two children and give up custody?

A link from Heather's site:

http://www.keen.com/categorylist/Psychic-Advice/195/

We'd have to figure out the name she used, however. I tried Asharp, cldhrt, Heather Thompson and Heather Wolf. I'll check again in the morning.

Thanks, Peliman. I think that must be a study she did with her former husband into both of their ancestries. I don't see any connection with Roseburg. Does anyone else? I've just been grasping as straws.

I also went back (with clearer eyes) and read the original article. I'm not sure if it's had some details cleaned up or not but I had not noticed that the dog was found "in" the house. The article also is very confusing here:

"....Family members contacted police Wednesday after Thompson failed to show up for an appointment with a friend..."

"BW [Heather's dad] said that a dispatcher told him that a deputy already was at Heather's house. Family said they were alarmed that her dog was found unattended at the home. Heather Thompson treats the dog “like a son,” Wolf said. “The dog was still in the house..."

and

"MT [EBM] said they divorced 2 1/2 years ago but have remained in touch. He hadn't talked to her for a few months and sent a text message to her Wednesday. He said he thought it was “very unusual” that she didn't respond......"

These confusing facts, as stated, lead us to several questions. Family members reported her missing when she didn't show up for an appointment with a friend. That denotes that multiple people called as the word is plural. This friend must have been someone who would know how to get in touch with family members. This leads me to believe that family members knew who she was meeting and spending her time with.

The dog was found inside the house and unless it was closed in a room, one wonders why it didn't attempt to protect its mistress. Maybe it did but we haven't heard that the dog is injured.

MT (IMO, we really need to switch to initials for all uninvolved parties to follow the rules) texted her and didn't get a reply back on Wednesday. The article does not say that he was one of the original reporters and he's officially not a family member as he's her former husband. By the time BW, her father, called LE, a deputy was already on scene. I can't understand if the author of this article is referring to these two men as the "family members" or not. The article is not clear in linking the reports by family members to the arrival of a deputy. It sounds like someone else's call, possibly a neighbor, might have precipitated that deputy's visit.

Any input?

Did anyone notice that even though Heather states that she doesn't want children on her MS page, her ex has two and someone sent her a Mother's Day greeting on May 10th. There's also a belated birthday greeting on July 24th.

I also found this which I think is connected to her:

http://www.soniachoquette.com/commu...r=cldhrt&sid=5020f8fba44861e149365aff0357ea29

She does use the screen name "cldhrt" on several sites and there are some interesting posts here. Click on each to read further. In May, she speaks of moving to Oregon and of searching for a "six-sensory" business partner and of doing this line of work on-line but wanting to move to face-to-face and to start some sort of hot spot or retreat. In September of last year, she speaks of wanting to move to "greener pastures".

I actually wonder if she didn't choose the little town of Green, OR simply because of its name, feeling that the place name held power. It's interesting as just south of Green, there is a town named Merlin. My experience with Merlin, however, has not been positive. I'm sure there are great people there but the only two times I've ever encountered blatant racism has been in Merlin (I have nine children of color). It was very confrontational and frightening.

There's also a clip here from last year:

http://www.soniachoquette.com/community/viewtopic.php?p=24010&sid=babb6209410c9917325abf490744b69e

"....I started my journey as a green witch but I also love Sonia & Wayne. What an awesome thing they do. I have 5 regular guides, and 1 part time guide that I know of...."

The comment above leads to think that possibly this could be what her family is talking about when they say she was drawn to Oregon. Maybe she found the tiny town of Green while driving through and felt called. I've driven that highway literally hundreds of times and never noticed the town. I'm not positive but I don't think that there's a highway sign for it.

Concerning six-sensory partners, I found this:

If you will google the words--psychic roseburg--you will find a number of other psychics, channelers, spiritualists, and Tarot readers.

I do believe a number of people have psychic abilities (not nearly as many as claim to have them, of course.) Not sure about the rest. However, they always seem to be the most absolutely fascinating people. Forensic astrologers, of which WS has a number, seem to have a connection to some sort of vibrations. I can't begin to understand it all, but find it quite interesting. If this is what she was tuned into, it makes sense that she would want to live somewhere that had a large number of like-minded residents. I would think living in a community like that would be very fulfilling for someone interested in those things.

Couple thoughts and finds:

The "moonlight path" name seems to be connected to Heather with this (domain name): http://www.moonlightpath.org/

It seems that at the above webpage, Heather and her ex husband Michael were working on their genealogies together (probably while married.) Michael has subsequently moved his genealogy page. I didn't see a movement of Heather's genealogy page. Michael seems to have graduated same year as Heather, same high school (perhaps they married just out of high school? can anyone find when they married?) They seem to have remained caring friends, she congratulated him upon the birth of his son with new wife "Sep 19 2008 10:38 PM" (http://www.myspace.com/only71stitches). He tried to text her on Wednesday, the day after her dad couldn't get a hold of her in the evening. My guess is that her dad called Michael and asked if he had heard from her.

At anyrate, Michael may be able to help Heather's family sort out questions about the MoonlightPath thing, what it was about (herbs? Oils?) and whether she may have made some contacts through this business (see below, if it was being nurtured.)

But is this her LLC? It might certainly seem to be, but?

I tried to find the address attached to that:
11112 Buckhorn Rd
Glide, OR 97443

Seems like a country road, but I see no driveway, building etc.

Do we know Heather's middle initial for sure?

Is this Heather?

Found this link too. She was last online there on July 27th, it says. Seems she was looking for some type of "partner" in business or some such.

Edited: She wasn't just looking for a business partner..."I'm not very picky but if ya gotta call a plumber, don't like to get dirty, or prefer the suit & tie, opera & dinner lifestyle don't waste our time. Although an occasional night on the town is always fun, I prefer a jeans & t-shirt, let's get dirty (you know that brown stuff ya walk on), & have some fun kinda life. ... So if ya can't love me unconditionally don't bother. Oh & with me ya get what ya give..."

OK, we're getting a little closer to the truth. Odd I would mention Williams and Ruch and the Applegate and there she shows up. Hmmmm. Glide is also a tiny out of the way Cental Oregon town. These tiny towns are an amalgam of people and philosophies. There's the old hippies, the New Age crowd, the Medical Marijuana growers, and then the good old boy hunters and back to the landers. Her name even fits--Heather Wolf. I throw all these labels around as I know many many dear friends who fit each category.

Ashland is kind of the center for a lot of this but not everyone wants to live in a large college town of 20,000 where 300,000 tourists show up each year for the Shakespeare and the groove. There's also a strong but kind-hearted IMO, police presence in Ashland due to the tourist economy. Many people want to live on their own private plot of land 30-40 miles out. Ruch, Williams and Glide all fit that description. However, Heather chose Green, right next to the freeway.

I'm not sure Glide is even her, though, as that involved some sort of medical alert device. Maybe...

Now, if I had to put money on this, there would very possibly be some involvement with growing. It's extremely simple to get a MM card in Oregon--even children have them. It's honestly hard to walk a block and not see someone growing in their yard. The Applegate is verdant with growth. There are certainly some who grow more than allowed and sell the extra. This has been the cause of a number of violent crimes recently. That could be something to look into. When you go into some of these small towns, you are talking about three generations of growers. It's very much a part of the economy, just as in Humboldt and Mendocino County in CA.

It looks to me like Heather had some big plans. She seems to have a "gift" for channeling but wanted to do it on her own, rather than for a business entity. I'm intrigued by the interest in "sixth-sense". She would be one of thousands in Southern Oregon and if she had some cash, no doubt she could have gotten going. I know an amazing number of what I would describe mainstream people who have Shamans and Channelers.

I wonder if because of the ad you found and other requests for help, that someone dangerous met up with her to talk. Maybe she felt comfortable enough to meet at her house. Remember, when she was late for another appt., they called her family. She must have been quite transparent. I'm still trying to figure out who her cousin's ex-husband is. Is he the thin tall guy with the long hair she calls a sexy man?

FWIW, Heather was really tiny.

I know nothing about the semantics of music but I've wondered about that choice of name for the carpet cleaning business. Is there anyone who has questions or doubts about the legitimacy of that business? I've found the photos of the trailer but no reviews. Something seems a little off to me. I fully realize that people can get into all sorts of totally unrelated fields just to support their true passion. But, this is a boom time for carpet cleaners. I noticed that a family member said she was tired of the heat of Las Vegas. Green, Oregon would sound mighty good to me after hot and dry Las Vegas. There's so many houses foreclosed in Douglas County, though, that she surely could have made money cleaning carpets or houses there until she got on her feet with her other venture. It's not unusual at all to find very educated people here in Southern Oregon who are doing entry level jobs just so they have enough to get by to write or to do something spiritual.

i think "sexy man" is her ex's brother...i looked at the pic's on the genealogy page... alot of the pics from her her myspace http://www.myspace.com/asharp7.... are there too... "sexy man" is also who is listed as a co-owner on the asharp business page... there is a page for him too, but dont know if i can link it?

Greetings All,

I was comforted to read that the Douglas County Major Crimes Team was working on Heather's case. I am only too sad that she is not still here to be loved by those who love her. Hopefully the Crimes Team is top notch and on the verge of picking someone up with "good proof," so that justice can commence -- however, is there ever any justice in a murder?

At any rate, Heather seems to have been a person who was motivated. She, as a single gal, co-owned and worked a company. Some of what I read seemed to indicate that she was actually kinda passionate about doing a good carpet cleaning job, so I am inclined to believe that the business was just that, "carpet cleaning." She may have sold her part of the business to her brother in law or, if the business was not doing so well, she might have just parted ways leaving him with what they had. The trailer for the business wasn't noticeable on the property in Oregon, though it might have been there, but I am inclined to believe she parted for Oregon with a fresh start in mind (leaving the trailer with her ex partner). Even so, I'm sure that the major crimes team is going to want to know how the business parting went -- was it amicable, my guess is that it was but whether or not it was, my guess is it has nothing to do with what happened to Heather.

I'm very curious about the Moonlightpath LLC (mentioned on this webpage) having the "11112 Buckhorn Rd. Glide, OR 97443" address. That info doesn't match this pages info.

I wasn't able to figure out how to look up the 11112 Buckhorn Rd property here:

http://www.co.douglas.or.us/puboaa/puboaa_search.asp

Can someone do better than me?

Okey dokey... Found this:

Property type: Single-Family Home, Size: 2,412 sqft, 2 beds, 2 baths, Built in 1944

Also found this

BUT?? Who owns this place now? Anyone with luck in looking this up with the assessor?

As far as an interest in farming MM, I don't know if Heather would have been inclined that way. On this page it notes "Drugs: Never" and "Drinks: rarely." On the other hand, you don't have to eat what you grow (so to speak). SO...what type of business was MoonlightPath? An amended annual report was filed on 02-22-2010, so it seems that the business was active in some way. The articles of organization were filed in 03-26-2009, so it seems that Heather had plans for this business. The principal place of business was 303 The Trees Drive, Williams, OR. That place is shown as last sold on June 8th, 2006 on this site. (4.89 acres, 1782 sq ft, mobile home, single family home, 2 baths.) The owners can be found by searching the assessors page. I'm going to guess these are relatives of Heather's, maybe aunt/uncle, maybe parents of the cousin whose ex-husband she was sharing 176 Honey Lane with.

AHA... I'm a dodo, I should have figured this out earlier.

http://www.moonlightpath.com/
http://whois.domaintools.com/moonlightpath.com

Also...maybe no longer concerned about the owner of the property where Heather was found. One article said "In Green, she shared a rented house with her cousin's ex-husband." Okay the house was rented.

Still looking for info. Would like to know who last contacted her through Keen OR any of her other email addresses etc.

I'm sorry I can't help on the Douglas County tax lots. I really don't understand their online functions. I agree that Heather sounds motivated and it's highly possible that the carpet business was legitimate. As to medical marijuana, there are many people in Oregon (and elsewhere, I assume) who would argue that it is not a drug but an herb. I've seen that same comment on people's MS pages when I know they partake of pot.

I'm also confused about the connection with Williams. Williams is a very close knit community and I would think she'd have to know someone to end up there. It's far off the beaten path in the Applegate. Two of our adult children had their weddings out there at a farm and it is unbelievably beautiful. I can see how someone who does not like the heat would be drawn to Williams. But is is remote. It's about 20 miles south of Grants Pass on a windy road through the Applegate Mtns. Going back over our thread now I can't find that comment so maybe it has been edited.

As to the Glide connection, I'm still not convinced that is her as that is connected to something about medical alert devices. It is the correct name however. She might have rented the home for a short while before moving into the place in Green. That might be why the address comes up but shows a home for sale. With the economy being so poor right now, there are a lot of rentals to choose from. Does anyone have any timeline as to when she actually left Las Vegas and arrived in Oregon? About when she moved into the Green house?

I'll keep looking.

Vineland, New Jersey?

Peliman I'll check for ya and see if I find any other locales for this guy.

Well, he's lived in South Carolina, Oklahoma, Texas, and a bunch of places in California. Plus Vineland of course in Jersey. He's got Church in his family as in someone is a Reverand.

For now the only archived stuff I can find on this guy is his brother got caught up on a truant sweep years ago and this Samuel Mears picked him up. That was in California. That and somebody in his family died a ways back in Atlantic City. Looks like his mom or maybe a grandmom.
