Being a dog person, I jumped on that right away. Yes, I would say that Heather has had a number of shepherd type dogs, one of which looked to be full breed. I don't know if Oregon is unique but we have a lot of people who are extremely connected to their dogs..even considering them their spiritual familiars. These are not my beliefs but I'm just stating what I've come to accept and feel comfortable with in Ashland. We're about as oovy groovy as you get down here. I would say that Roseburg is a bit more "country" and rugged but with elements of the oovy-groovyness. I say this with no disrespect. We are a unique state.
My guess is that Heather had some sort of a special name. Most spiritual advisers do. There were several listed on some of the links above but nothing seemed to fit. Possibly her extended family might know. I wonder if the A Sharp has any meaning. She used it for her cleaning business.
I don't know if everyone found it as odd as I did just how many older photos Heather had saved on her MS. That's quite unique. Once again, dogs figured in strongly. And you are right, Wrinkles, the dog would most likely have protected her if possible. My guess is that the dog was outside or that the killer knew the dog and thus managed to move it. I noticed they used the word "unattended". That makes me think that possibly it was left loose. I think they would have said "closed in the house" otherwise.
