My son, Henry Charles Koepke, left our home on March 10, 1985, with a friend. He said to me as he left, "Leave the night latch off, Mom, I'll be home late tonight." That is the last anyone has seen or heard from him. Henry was 23 years old at that time. He and his friend were scuba divers. His friend had a boat in the San Juan Islands. They got in the friend's airplane, flew to Friday Harbor, and went to the friend's boat. It was late at night by that time, so they decided to stay there. After that, we're not sure what happened. We've heard several stories, but nothing concrete. Henry was not in any trouble that would cause him to hide out. We've gotten help from the Washington State Police, several private investigators, lawyers, psychics, and anyone and everyone else we can think of. All was to no avail. It goes without saying we are all devastated over this situation. Henry was a fine, handsome young man who was attending Tufts University in Massachusetts. He seemed to have everything going his way.
