Found Deceased OR - James 'Jim' Cross, 41, Eugene, 12 Dec 2016

Any chance he lost power and holed up with a friend or went the Red Cross shelter?

I just want to clarify that Hot Mama's is a wing restaurant. It sounds like it could be other things and it's not so just putting that out there.

I never ate there or at grind, although grind looked good.

He was really upset in August when his rabbit, Captain Mayhem, went missing. And thrilled when he found him :)

I don't think James would just take off and leave his rabbit... I have a really bad feeling about this one :(
I really want to hear from the room-mate. It was Jim's friend from a different state who spoke to the press and said she was worried about him and it's not at all like him to take off, and according to MSM the neighbours were the last to see him. So where was the roomate?

I can't find any mention of a boyfriend or dating on his fb either, but maybe he had started seeing someone, or maybe he was using an online dating site and went to meet with someone and met with found play... :(

I sure hope LE are taking this seriously. Adult men who go missing seem to be low priority for most LE agencies, but I think they really need to look into this one...

Respectfully BBM. I also got the impression from his FB that he really adores Captain Mayhem, and I agree, I don't think he would have just left CM there if he knew he wasn't coming back (as in voluntarily missing), so for me -despite his FB post back in October saying that he was looking for a therapist- suicide is not a likely scenario here. I realize that some people can become suicide rather impulsively, but I really don't feel that that's what happened with Jim.

At this point, the fact that Jim was last seen by his neighbors, instead of his roommate doesn't bother me (e.g., if the roommate is a student at UO, too, the last day of their finals was 12/9, so it's possible that s/he had already left Eugene for winter break; perhaps s/he was out of town for another reason, etc.).

But I really think Jim intended to come back, and I'm afraid there is something that's preventing him from doing so ... perhaps foul play or some sort of misadventure :(.

By the way, does anybody know if Jim had his phone with him, and if he did, whether it has been pinged?

I've been in touch with his room mate. We are supposed to meet up today to put up more flyers.

Having known him I have to agree with you both. While he is a little loud and boisterous sometimes he is a gentle caring person with a strong moral compass. He's not someone who just half-a$$es things and so I think if he were to commit suicide or even go away for a day he would have made sure someone knew to take care of his pet.

Why do you get that feeling? Can you elaborate? Thank you.

I just really get the feeling he is in or near moving water....I wonder if he slipped? Hopefully more will come out soon...I've seen no mention of family?

Hi eaglewing. I really hope you are able to locate Jim. This must be such a scary situation for you and his family and friends. Do you happen to know if LE tried to ping his cell phone?

I want to hang up flyers. Please let me know what I can do to get some. I'm so very worried about Jim. He is an extraordinary person. He would never just leave his bunny and I don't believe he would hurt himself. I feel so helpless and I want to do everything I can to help.

I'm not in Eugene anymore but shared it to facebook because most of my facebook peeps are there and several shared it too.

I keep hoping to see "found safe" for him :(

He just looks like such an endearing person I'd enjoy to know.

Any health issues like diabetes? Epilepsy? Anyone know?

I have no idea. I would assume so but I am not sure.
