I agree with you Oregonmama.
Highway 6 ,,,, definitely need to be searched
He could take that and end up on Hwy 101 to go north or south, could even be in California for all we know.
Wish we could get a vehicle description.

I still think he is in the area. He had several days to leave but he didn't.

I don't know if there is a way to find out or not, but I have to wander if anyone has heard from his wife or older children. I hope not, but this dude kind of gives off that family annihilator vibe.

Police searching for evidence missing Salem mother and son were killed, warrant indicates
May 24, 2019
Updated 9:30am

A search warrant seen on the front seat of a car belonging to a missing Salem mother indicates authorities are searching for evidence she and her son were killed.

KATU (2) reports the warrant could be seen Thursday night in Karissa Fretwell’s SUV outside her home. She and her 3-year-old son Billy were last seen May 13, and family members reported them missing May 17.

The warrant authorizes authorities to search for evidence of homicide, including the bodies of Fretwell and her son.

Police are looking for Michael John Wolfe, 52, of Gaston, as a person of interest in the case. He is the boy’s father, according to court records.

Lt. Treven Upkes, a Salem police spokesman, said Thursday he couldn’t comment on whether police think the mother and son might be dead. He said they were “operating under the assumption” that they are together.

Upkes said he couldn’t confirm if or how Fretwell and Wolfe knew each other, or comment on when Wolfe was last seen.

Court documents state Fretwell and Wolfe were in court as recently as April, and Wolfe was ordered to pay over $900 a month in child support.

Michael Wolfe has family in Idaho. So, depending on home long he has been on the run he could be there. Salem Police should contact the Boise area media to get them to run the story there and get his picture floating around there.

I just get the feeling that he didn't expect to be on LE's radar and that's why he stayed in the area .

Oregon authorities searching for a single mother and her 3-year-old son identified the child's biological father as a person of interest in the case Thursday.

SALEM, Ore. (AP) — Oregon authorities searching for a single mother and her 3-year-old son identified the child's biological father as a person of interest in the case Thursday, the same day they converged on two rural properties in the 10-day-old hunt.

Police in Salem, Oregon, want to question Michael John Wolfe of Gaston, Oregon, in the case.

Court papers show that the missing woman, 25-year-old Karissa Alyn Fretwell, went to court last year to establish that Wolfe was the father of her son, William. A DNA test verified her claim, and Fretwell then filed a petition seeking more than $1,000 a month in child support from Wolfe, court records show. She has full custody of the child.

Fretwell hasn't been heard from since May 13, and her family reported her and her son missing when she didn't show up for work May 17. She is a student at Western Oregon University.

Authorities declined to comment on the court case involving Wolfe and Fretwell.

Fretwell's Facebook page is full of smiling photos of her and William, including one in the hospital right after his birth. In her profile, she wrote "My son is my world ...Future WOU graduate, BIG DREAMER!"

Fretwell's sister did not immediately return a message sent through Facebook.

Glad to see HLN keeps airing this case. So often cases get dropped after a few days.

I read that Michael’s mother came to live with them recently in Oregon. I wonder if his mother still has a home back in Idaho?

I also read that when she filed, Karissa wasn’t requesting that much in child support..only around $300 a month. Michael contested the amount with the court and the judge then ruled the amount to be $904 a month.

Law enforcement needs to discover who has provided Michael Wolfe with transportation, either directly or indirectly (by lending a vehicle). Somebody has. Ultimately, if he is named a suspect, a Hindering charge (up to 5 years and/or $125,000 fine) can be leveled at them. Law enforcement will have to use some leverage if they aren't getting cooperation.

Sounds like she was moving fwd with a great future. He would contest anything because he didn't want to give any money at all. The court case just blew up in his face and he acted. So sad. The kid is a cutie!

That is the home they searched yesterday where he and his wife lived. Back in 2013 he and his wife registered a farm business called "MM Farm" at that location. That farm business was dissolved 6 months later in 2014.
