I have not been able to find the case on the Oregon courts website.

Chapman was not preferred by law and order conservatives who favored Lysl Miller, but so far she seems to be quite sentient.

Yamhill County' homicide rate is far higher than one would expect from a rural community. People are beginning to get angry about it. The judges are beginning to take notice.

Welcome to Websleuths,
Yamhill !!

Another area that has been/is being searched, per KATU.

New information: I just spoke with an Amity farmer. A search team has been on his property for several days looking for Karissa and Billy Fretwell. He said law enforcement told him there was cell phone ping in the area. #LiveOnK2

Amity is to the West of Hopewell. I expect that the farm being searched is not in Amity proper.

<modsnip: removed personal information of innocent person>

Phil Janzen of Janzen Farms says a search team spent four days on his property. He says investigators have a clue from a cellphone.

"There's a ping off her cellphone, or some kind of cellphone connection that they had off her phone in our area," he said.

He says dive teams have searched every pond and slough in the area.

It seems as if the police are chasing cell tower pings. Given a suspect that is ignorant of this capability, it is effective. Given a suspect who has been a member of a fire department and no doubt involved in search and recovery, cell tower pings might not be so useful. A perpetrator who tosses the victim's dell phone into the back of some farmer's pickup can lead the police on a wild goose chase.

Wolfe is being charged with abduction, so police have not found evidence that he murdered them in Karissa's apartment.

The police have spent a lot of time searching Wolfe's home South of Gaston. He might have murdered them at his home.

My theory is that Wolfe murdered Karissa and William somewhere between Salem and Gaston, ditched Karissa's phone on some random vehicle around Hopewell / Amity, then went on to Gaston to either dump the bodies along the way or to dump them near Gaston.

One can hope that MW's vehicle has a GPS with route memory that can tell police where he has been. However; that still leaves a big search area.

They really need to check the Haag lake area and along Hwy 47. So many places to hide things

LE must have some kind of probable cause to charge with aggravated murder. A judge would never sign a warrant without that. They have something.

The Yamhill County district attorney says they certainly hope the missing Salem mother and her son are found alive, but the evidence they've gathered so far suggests otherwise.

He'll get his karma when he goes to the Oregon State Penn.

While that theory may account for Karissa's phone, it does not account for Wolfe's phone. I believe that they are using his cell phone pings to try and locate an area where he may have perhaps disposed of evidence or buried the victims. If they look at this cell pings and there are pings on farms or large rural areas, then naturally that would be one such place to search/investigate. MOO.

Locals have been speculating that he did not have his phone with him and if my memory serves me correct he went back to work after they were taken and whatever else he did that day

Understood, but that's just speculation which is also exactly what I am doing, but I did note MOO.

Absolutely -- DNA, witness, note, murder weapon with fingerprints, something. Apparently this investigation has boiled down to just finding just two pieces of evidence -- the bodies.

Detectives say cell phone records place Wolfe in an area of Salem near Karissa's apartment for several hours on the night of May 13th - the day she was last seen.

This was also during a time he told police he was at work.

Investigators viewed surveillance video at Wolfe's workplace, Cascade Steel, showing him leaving into a wooded area that night, and returning to work at around 2 am on the 14th.

He could be seen with a backpack and white trash bag.
