GUILTY OR - Kelsey McCune for kidnap, rape of 13yo girl, Oregon City, 2013

How would that work though?

For instance ***flashing AA highway sign***

white, female, 5'4", 125 lbs, dyed red hair

AA are basically for the abducted under the age of 17 with a known vehicle to bolo for. Just a description of said runaway doesn't really work. IMO.

Having the local and outlying press (TV and print) show her picture along with the person accompanying her, will get better results. IMO.

Touché. I stand corrected. Good point.

bbm - this sounds like there had already been something going on earlier that was disturbing or maybe a reason for friction in this "friendship" between father and KMc. Otherwise why would they immediately call him and "know" she was with him. Maybe she had mentioned that she would like to go camping with him or something.

I "got" from the show, that they realized their daughter was with him ... when she was gone from her bed and the parents checked her cellphone/text messages and FB and then went.... oh chit!!!!

Transcripts will be up later and everyone can read that and see what they think?

This is very interesting...

when S. was found missing from her bed when the parents went to wake her up for school... The parents called Kelsey McCune... (And KM did not answer)

Why did the parents choose to call KM? Why was a 40 year old friend of the family called to find out where S. was?

I wonder what led to this choice by the parents?

:waitasec:

ETA... The NG show summary in Ransom's post above answered my questions here...

I've got a question that I'm hoping anyone can answer. In this case as we all know, she's 13, and he's 40. A minor and non-custodial adult. It's been said that minors are not able to make decisions when it relates to going some where or doing something with an adult. With that said, and even though she might have gone with him willingly, or without resisting, would that be considered as kidnapping? She goes somewhere with a non-custodial adult, when she's not legally allowed to make that choice without parental consent. Is that considered kidnapping?

The last pic she took saying "Good bye to all my friends" looks like the school restroom. I bet she waited to send it during the middle of the night just before she took off since she left the phone at home. What do these girls see in these losers? No home, no car, just a transient basically. He must have really schmoozed her - he cannot be up to any good and I don't believe she will be able to just change her mind and go home.

Good questions...

I am hoping that a WSer with more legal expertise than I have will answer these questions for us...

She might not want to, at least not immediately.

When I was 16 I was madly "in love" with a 36 y/o man. Nothing ever happened but I know I'd had gone anywhere with him if he'd asked me to.

Teenage crushes are powerful things. Plus, she strikes me as the rebellious one in the family, or she is in that phase just now. For her this is an adventure right now.

I just hope he doesn't hurt her, or rape her.

I totally agree with you on that, but I'm afraid that with a 40 year old 'man', what else would he be looking for? I can't imagine what a 40 year old adult has in common with a 13 year old girl. But I sure do hope he doesn't hurt or rape her. This just makes me sad.

There are two weapons shown in a photo on her ink [aka instragram] page with the caption "my babies". Would be good to know if those are missing as well.

Her instagram profile reads: "future marine! Single. 13. d.j. artist. boxer. guns and knives are my life".

The photo with the caption "goodbye to all my friends. I love guys." appears to be a selfie taken in a public restroom.

All very disturbing........

This too is like Hannah Anderson where she sent a message on social media saying "hello river" and that was where she ended up.

Thanks for that. It says "maybe looking for places to camp" still wondering why they think that.

Because S.'s father said that he is likely to be camping.

Because he is known to be somebody that lives via camping out in the area.

He has no known address...

I'm guessing the FBI might know something about KM that makes them especially worried for S. Hope I'm wrong.

He may be itinerate but he obviously has a high degree of intelligence to make a living at fixing computers. Just my opinion but I don't think he has planned this to be caught and I don't think he is doing what people expect him to do. I think we need to look outside the box. But as I said this is just my opinion.

I believe kidnapping would apply if parents have not given permission for a child to be with another adult, regardless of what the minor wants or does, JMO. I mean, if parents can be charged with kidnapping, surely other adults would be.

It seems pretty clear that she left willingly. That is probably why they aren't calling it an abduction.
FYI, the weapons do appear to be BB guns. :twocents:

As far as why they can't tell us why they are concerned, there are a few possibilities for that.
I don't necessarily think that statement has to mean they found evidence from his past or anything.

They could have found evidence of a sexual relationship.
They also could have found evidence of a suicide pact, which would obviously also concern them.
It's hard to know how to read "Goodbye" messages and if they are temporary or permanent. :twocents:
